Hey all, just registered and wanted to say hi from Cape Coral. Great site and forum resource.

I'm getting ready to purchase our first ATV (2 seater Polaris or Bombardier) & start riding with my wife & son. As I research places to ride (or lack of) I'm starting to question if it's worth dropping some big money on a bike & trailer.

Any suggestions where to ride? Croom looks like a blast, but it's a drive from here. Ocala looks fun too, but it's even farther. Anyone ride Big Cypress - is it allowed? Camping might be worth it at Croom or Ocala I guess.

Thanks for any help!

Hey Alterego,
First things first.

Welcome to the site.

Buy a Honda instead  Wink

Yeah, you'll probably want a trailer.  Believe me it helps.

In so far as riding goes, you'll really want the whole family to have their own quad.  This is especially true of anyone who really takes a shine to it and wants to ride all the time.  It may seem expesive but if you take your time and shop around you'll find some good deals.    As far as riding in Big Cypress there are spots.  Some of the other cats on this board know them real well.  There is also an MX track not too far from you.

Good luck.

Riding is a source.

Hey, thanks Pastense,

I'd like to get a Honda if only they made a two seater. Kinda limited. I wanted to start with a two seater (to see how much I'm going to like it, how much I get to use it and will be able to take my son hunting/riding on it) and get a trailer that will hold two bikes in anticipation of eventually getting another. I can see it happening.

Would love more info on Big Cypress as that is probably the closest to me if anyone knows anything. Hate to sneak into the Yucapan as they've been cracking down - but may have to!  Wink

Hey Alter,

There are two guys I saw on this board that seem to be extensivly knowlegable on Big Cypress.   MuddingMark and Anoriginal.  Anoriginal seems like a solid person to PM.  He's been riding ATV's since 1976.
