Why wont my Windows Media player stream video?

Every time I go to watch a streaming video it starts to buffer and then the percent of video buffered starts to go down for some reason and then it starts playing and then the video freezes and I still get audio. Why is this. I am running a cable connection...It used to work just fine and then about 2 weeks ago it started doing this.

On mine if its not fully loaded and i hit play it will play a lil bit of the video and then do what you said and judt go to audio and the video freezes. That only happens when im at my moms house though with a really slow connection speed, but since you said you have cable i have no idea why it would do that.

I would check with your cable provider, it sounds like a bandwidth issue. Check to see if they have recorded any problems in your area. The cable company is notorious for slow response times so two weeks is easily believable. Also check with any of your nieghbors who have cable modems. They are most likley running off the same CMTS (terminus system that cable companies use) as you are. Unfortunatley, cable companies try to save money by running as many people as they can of the same CMTS. So if there is alot of new developments being built around your home like me it will chew up bandwidth. Also try seeing if your able to stream at night verses early evening. Try to narrow the problem from a network problem to a local PC problem.
Good Luck
