Lets see that v8 pull my dozer that I pull 3 times a week. It is a small dozer but with the trailer it is just under 17,000 lbs. That v8 could not do that for long. You can get twice the mileage out of the diesel than most gas engines. I have a diesel with 690,000+ miles on it. Try and get that from a gas without rebuilding it. Powerstroke all the way.
I guess what I should have said was, so many people buy them and never pull more than what a gas engine will pull, or for status quo. I have seen many, and I mean many gas engines with 300,000 miles one them and never a wrench on them other then maintanence. But how many people do you see that buy and keep a vehicle for over 100,000 before they want something new. Not very many.

01_DS650 pic I saw
:)my dads truck look like that in pic but his red one.Not very long ago he just bought new used truck last month ago it's a 2002 ford f250 power stroke unleaded gas 4x4 leather seats sits about 5people 6 cd changer s,am fm radio, ac heat, and it's a v10 [smiley=Star.gif] it can go through slick mudded dirt roads no problems in 4wd [smiley=drive.gif].he got for 20k at used car truck place in lake city [smiley=deal.gif]. [smiley=Approve.gif]it's very nice truck he hads it will do alot hueling. [smiley=ThumbsUp.gif] [smiley=trophy1.gif]
SO your dads truck has the v10 and not the power stroke diesel. There is a difference, between the two. The power stroke has the diesel engine, and the regular F250 has gas engine. From what I am understanding your dad has the v10 which is gas still a ford so thats all that matters.

Well as far as keeping a gas truck over 100,000 Chuck Norris's 1994 F-150 has almost 160,000 and he has no intentions of getting rid of it and not much more than tires and battery have been done to it. And as far as my F-250 powerstroke I am getting an average of 17.4 mtg which I think isn't too bad and diesal around here is only about $2.06 to $2.20 depending on where you buy it. So I guess my vote is for my Powerstroke. I love my Truck.

Had to trade my truck in on a 4-door when we had kids, but Ford makes the real trucks.

We had a 2003 Chevy Silverado cab and a half 2wd Gas. It got good gas mileage but couldn't pull itself out of a wet paper bag! So we traded it for a 2002 Ford F250 4x4 Gas the MPG not too bad gets about the same as our friends diesel but Electronically I would take a VW bug over my ford.Been in the shop more than I've had it and needs to go back again for the Power Door locks. Never by from Thurston's Used Auto Center! Ron Thurston is a nice guy but his vehicles suck! I have had my F250 for 8 months and been in the shop 7 times

I gotta go Dodge. I have one, I love it. It's the best looking truck out there with the most room in the inside. Having said that, I'll also make sure to point out that I paid the extra for the extended warranty.

Come on guys, the only true, real diesel is a Cummins. Now if you had a Cummins inside of a F-250,350 then we would all have a great truck. IMO

Well my truck is only 15 months old and I have 31000 miles on it needless to say I drive alot. There is nothing like a ford truck my last one was a 1996 f350 diesel I have it eight years and still got $ 8500 trade in at the dealer it still looked like new and ran great nothing but a new alternator 130,000 miles mostly city driving stop and go. my new truck is a f250 4 x 4 and I love it.
