I ask this question of you because it is quintessential to have a stated goal(s) when dealing with any publicly elected official.

If one of the most critical goals of this board is to attain land for ATV use, and not simply whine about not having land then, it is going to take something far more precious than our wants, or desires, or righteousness, or even money.

It will take that one thing that people in todays world are willing to pay top dollar for and fight like a demon to keep extra of.  That thing, my friends, is time.  It is the one item that we cannot attain any more of. No matter how much is spent, or efforted.........the time we have...... is all we have.

So ask yourself the next time you simply state that you want more areas to ride upon, legally.  Are you willing to spend the time to attain your goal?  Will you commit to the time to right a properly formatted, lucid, and intelligent argument to the proper officals? Are you willing to effort the task of determining whom the proper officials are? Do you have the stamina to voice your opinion where and when it counts?  Perhaps most importan of all are you a registered voter?  Do you vote?  If not then why in the world would you think a public offical would ever listen to you? What can you do to affect them?

Look hard at these questions and let them resonate as loud and as clear as a BIG GUN pipe does,  becuse these are the same questions that those public officals, that you so do want the ear of, are also thinking of.

"resonating big gun" pipes will not help much when we are trying to convince
legislators to purchase and designate land for ATV use.

We need to convince lawmakers that:

    Land purchase is good.
ATVs can use the land with no ill effects and possibly GOOD effects..
ATVrs will pay to use the land.
Feds/state/county/municipalities will make money from ATVrs.

I think of small towns all over Florida.....they could make an ATV trail system......ATV shops would open up, restaurants could cater to ATVrs....motels.......ATV rentals.....parts shops.........races.   HECK!!! a whole industry would happen!!!!
But....you see......we have to make it happen.     Anyone ever hear the saying "Build it and they will come!".
We just need to convince someone to invest.  And that may take letters, phone calls.........enthusiasm.

I think we will lose more land to the tree huggers, unless we get organized in someway. May question is why aren't the ATV manufactures and ATV shops helping to find places to ride. I would think they have alot to lose. If ATV lose the land to ride, nobody is going to buy ATV's and they are losing money. Isn't there someway to get them behind us.

All it takes is lots of money and lots of organization. Trying to get both together has always been the stumbling block.

I wish they made a 1000mile trail system from penscola to jax and one going from jax to homestead.

Well you guys should put a tv ad out on new stations all  over in florida.

Well i heard something long time ago when i was
moving into mcalpin back in 1998.
I was looking in newpapers in lake city while
back they were going make a atv and horse trail system  from live oak to lake city.
I guess it didn't happen
