Brute Force 750 belts breaking / Belt Light Blinking

I have a brute force that has the light blinking on the instrument panel. Once the light starts blinking you can not exceed 8 mph.
I have two questions, 1) Has anyone else had problems with the belt breaking on their brute force (I'm on my 4th belt) and 2) How do I reset the bike so the light stops blinking without having to take it to the dealer every time.
Any help would be appreciated.

I aint had a problem with my belt yet.My fan quit working but other than that i am happy with it.How many hours or miles do you have on that thing to be on your fourth belt. Have you tried unhooking the batt. terminals to reset it?

Now, don't hold me to this, but I read that you can unplug the 2 pin conector going to belt switch. Unplug black conector under seat , unplug white conector beside it ( white plug is a reset plug which has no wires conected to it from machine) Plug reset plug into black plug turn key to on , turn off. plug everything back to stock. You are done. Got that from a brute force owner. Now, It can also be dangerous to do with without getting the belt replaced, don't want to be out on the trail and have the belt break.

Thank you both for responding.
I was able to get the exact step by step directions from someone at Highlifter. I corrected the problem and replaced the blet in about 30-45 min.
Slick Nick I've got about 100 hrs on the bike but I Believe it's the tires and thick muck I go through, plus I've been using the Dayco belt and someone told me that the BF doesnt like Dayco belts for somereason.
Thanks again.
