i agree... and make different sizes because that size will go on a car but barely will fit on a quad when there are already stickers/graphics

I've been in advertising (art director/creative director) for close to 20 years now. Here's my 2 cents for what its' worth.

Think beyond bumper sticker. Think logo that can be used in many applications, ie. sticker, hat, shirt, web site, banner ads on other sites, etc . . . A circular or more compact design my suit these applications better than a long horizontal logo. Would certainly do better on an atv or rear car window. Not everyone wants a sticker taking up so much space on their stuff.

Keep in mind that a good logo should work as well in black and white as it does in color. This will make it cost effective depending on how the logo is used (1 or two colors on a sticker/ full color on a site) Don't rely on a bunch of goofy photoshop tricks to "make it work".

Use an ATV in the logo? Tricky balance between showing a sport or a utility and what users will want. I'm a Utility guy and wouldn't want art of a sport jumping and I'm sure vice versa for Sport riders. Not sure the answer here - the bike might have to be a blend that doesn't really say either style - ambiguous. Maybe better to stick with a cool font modified for a unique look.

Yes keep it simple so it's immediately recongizeable. But, it needs a unique hook to give atvflorida an identity - don't just pick a font and type it out then call it a logo.

Once you have a good logo - stick with it. Use it as many places as possible. It will start to be recognized and do the work it was intended to do.

And lastly, if it's a well designed logo that looks cool, people will want to use it. They'll want to put it on their stuff. If not, don't waste the money printing it up.
