Take I-4 west to the Polk Parkway (570) take the pkwy to 98. Go south on 98 several mile to hwy 60. take a left on 60 and go about a mile to 17. go south about 11 miles  after you pass the big Dyke ( get your mind out of the gutter)on the right side of the road look for sand mountain rd (on the right side) take that to the track.

Hey Mike its easier if you go to the exit after hwy27 get off to the right & it will curve you back around over I4 just keep going all the way to the stop sign. Go straight across follow to the end look in front of you & you will see the Toyota dealership. Take that road which is 17 all the thru Bartow & you will come into Forte Meade & after you go thru the town you will start to curve to the right & Sand Mountain Rd. is on the right.

I was thinking of that way through Lake Alfred but wasn't sure which would be quicker. I was just thinking that the pkwy has less lights and  might move faster. Anyways, 6 of 1 half dozen of another.
There's a couple of routes for you to take.

I would think it would be quicker to take the pkway, lake alfred, winter haven, eagle lake have alot of lights and traffic. and if your driving down 17 through winter haven during the week with your quads your liable to get the finger from me if i see you and im workin. but like you said 6 of 1 half dozen of another.

I used to go the pkwy but then was told about the other way & man it is twice as fast. It doesn't even take us an hour and half to get there now.

Hmmm, I figured pkwy would be faster, but then again I have never driven from orlando down to fort meade so I was just guessing.

Yes you would think but its kind of like reaching around your a$$ to touch your elbow. You have to go way down around & then come back up instead of just cutting straight thru.
