That's has been changed. I got my sticker in October and all I had to give her is my VIN and drivers license and they gave me a sticker. -Mark

OK! If you are going in January.......
Have your title with you  (bill of sale with VIN# if you don't)
Have a helmet
have 50 bucks. That is prorated through the year.....in July it will be 25 bucks  (50 bucks devided by half a year equals 25 bucks)

If you don't have a title, you can go to your local tag office and get one with a bill of sale.  They will give you a receipt that is as good as a title until the title is mailed back (usually two weeks).
I have not been to Croom yet, but looking forward to it soon.

If you mean a 3/4 helmet, that should be fine.  I would think even a 1/2 helmet would suffice.

was there last weekend and only had to give vin # and 45.00  talk to the rangers and i guess thay want the money more than the reg or title. Thing seem to be a little bit better there now .  thay have a new ranger named John who seems to understand that thay work for us very friendly unlike the woman that  that used to terrorize the campground . this is the 2nd time we have used the campground and not been harassed by tammy.

A suggestion.....if you are going to be riding trail riding with a group, be sure to get a good pair of goggles or a face shield for the 3/4 helmet.
I bought a full face helmet and  I like it except it seems to "amplify" my quads engine noise.  Seems like the sound goes straight up into the bottom of the helmet.  It does protect my face from twigs and low hanging branches quite well.
The helmet is a "BELL" brand that I bought at Walmart.
Did you say this was your first trip to Croom? I have never been, so how was it?

Thanks for the 'review'. I am going to have to move Croom up
on my list to go.
I would only go a couple times a year probably.....so i don't think it would get to 'old' for me.     The area I ride near my house is probably not 15 acres......(that GETS OLD!).
One trail in the area I ride..is a two-tire trail that get swallowed up with water.  In the middle of the water/trail.......is an old outboard motorboat floating.   I haven't gotten up the nerve to go out to see how deep it is...or even figure out how the boat got into the middle of the woods.......LOL
I am still new at ATVing.....so I still smile when I see people point at my quad in the back of my truck when I am going somewhere.
What helmet did you finally get?   When I ride street motorcycle, I usually wear a half shell, but when i got the quad, I went and purchased a full face.
It is useful when in the middle of a pack of riders on a trail.

   later,
    Chuck

ya u need money at least 50 dollars and title. then make sure u have a spark arrester on your quad or dirt bike because sometimes they will nag u about having a spark arrester. also they have some pretty sweet hills there that are challenging in many different ways.  but lots of drop offs!!! the cliffs there will drop off out of no where. some times u will be riding around the cliff area and there will be an instint drop off. one of my friends crashed off one of the cliffs and totlled his front end. so watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a rookie to ATV Florida.  I'm interested in croom and have been reading the conversation.  I bought my ATV in NC, so I have a Bill of Sale and MCO, but no FL title.  It sounds like they've loosened their restrictions about having a title.  According to what you guys have said, it sounds like I shouldn't have a problem.

In reference to helmets, I just purchased a brand new Fly MX for $49, Snell 2000 and DOT approved, from the following website:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/item.aspx?style=9080&department=201&Division=2
A wise man once told me, if you have a $10 head, wear a $10 helmet.  However in this case, you can get a $100 helmet for half price.

Good job on finding the helmet bargain.

If you want a FL title/registration,  you can get one where you get car tags/titles etc... Call your closest tag agency.  I think it's a good idea in case of theft, fire or damage.  Especially if you have it insured.

One slight little problem.  If I apply for a FL title, the state will want sales tax on an ATV that I bought in NC.  Don't know 'bout you, but $329 is a lot of money...
