CROOM IS $50.00 A YEAR YOU HAVE TO WEAR HELMETS, CAN NOT RIDE AT NIGHT ONLY 2600 ACRES BUT HARD TO GET LOST. JUST FIND THE FENCE LINE AND FOLLOW IT. OCALA IS THOUSANDS OF ACRES. DO NOT HAVE TO WEAR A HELMET. IF YOU PARK AT BIG SCRUB IT IS $5.00 I THINK TO PARK

Ocala National Forest is definitely a better ride. Plus, it's free. Croom is small and wooped out. You can find trails at O.N.F. to go wide open.

Where do you ride in Clearwater?

Croom is much smaller than Ocala, but they're both pretty whooped out.

Croom is 50 bucks for a year long pass.

They're both decent for trail riding.  Not very good for getting air though.

Croom has better water hazards and mud pits.

I hit both places about once a month. Let me know when you're going out there. We'll catch up and see how fast that 700 really is.

Peace out

I don't know of a specific website for Ocala.

Big Scrub Campground at Ocala, where most people ride, is just a flat cleared out square of land with a set of bathrooms, no showers. 6 bucks to camp over night, you get a fire ring, a picnic table, and that's about it.

The road from 19 to Big Scrub is about 7 miles long..it runs along the power lines and you can ride up and down the area under the power lines. Change your set up suspension to max soft..it's all whooped out in that area.

Don't ride on the dirt roads that are numbered though, because you get a ticket for like 80 bucks if you get caught.  Most of the trails run off the power lines...there's a big sand pit and some hill climbs back in the forest.  There are a lot of scenic trails to ride on if you get back in the forest, but if you're gonna go back in the forest, I highly suggest a GPS.  There's a bunch of logging trails that you can hall azz on, but be careful, there's some people that ride without gear, and there's no direction to the trails.

It's not as crazy as Croom, but you still have to be careful. Some are the trails are too tight for a fly by when you have two quads coming in the opposite direction.

If you are looking to do a week long trip, I highly recommend looking into LAKE DORR CABIN. It sleeps 10..sits on a lake with your own private 90 foot boat dock and it's completely secluded, you can trail ride right out of your front door.

It's like $750 for the week which isn't bad if you're splitting it between a group of people.

It says on their website that accomodations are by auction, but we just call the number and they tell us what weeks are available, and we book on an open week.

Well..I hope this was informative for you, let me know when you're headed up.

Peace Out

Have a GPS if you are riding Ocala.  You will get lost if finding trails unless you are with a seasoned ONF leader.
