I am pretty sure they were cutting in the area, but not Blue Sink itself. Anyone know anything else?

I was there about 7 weeks ago and the boyscouts were building a wooden structure around a small part of the beach area to stop the erosion. Other than that same old place with people swimming.

Yes, it is a Nat'l Forest, not a park, and logging is one of the activities there. It actually benefits certain species of wildlife, like the scrub jay and gopher tortoise.

I like how they can remove trees and say its ok, but when we tear up grass its harming the forrest. I am sure they have a reason somewhere but it just doesnt make much sense.

Never understood the logic in that. Or they can burn out a whole section of woods driving birds and other animals out, but an outlaw ATV, very evil indeed??

Cutting older timber allows undergrowth and such to grow which has more food in it for most animals. Very few animals can eat a tree. A lot of animals eat grass.
