Ok Ladies -

Is it just me or does it seem like the whole male population wants to date a britney spears ( pre-pregnancy ) / paris hilton look a-like ? ? ? Am I the only one who feels like this Huh?? Maybe I'm just the one who ends up meeting all the superficial /  shallow a$$holes ......

Just like there are a lot of different women out there, there are many types of men.  Keep checking, you will find one worth keeping.

We had a topic similar a while back in here too. I agree not all men feel like that. Most of them do like the eye candy but they know that they eventually get bored with it (or tired of the maintenance)and seek a deeper person.

Speaking of this topic: Have any of you seen the Dove or Walmart commercials promoting "real beaty"?  www.campaignforrealbeauty.com

I think it is fantastic to see big companies and media finally acknowledging that real women aren't supermodels

I agree with the above it takes all types! Just do not settle. And do not fall into the belief that beauty is easy to obtain as long as you go to the right Doctor.  Beacuse what is inside is what counts in the years ahead.

I agree w/ what all have you have said as well.  I as well am one of the few single women on this site.  I notice how guys pass me over for those model type women.  Then I realize...I wouldn't want someone so superficial anyway.  I have faith and belive that there are a few good ones out there.  I'm holding out until I meet one.

I didn't really think I was turning heads.  Who's heads have I been turning?  I look like crap in all my pics on here.  So if these ppl are interested I'm quite surprised.  And why haven't they come out to meet me?

as a male... i dont find britney 'all that" first off she talks like a dumb a&&, second paris in nothing but a Wh0re. I like the clean cut, honest, trustworthy, non potty mouth, ladylike, kind of girls who like to let there hair down and have some fun. these are all the qualitys i found in my wife!

Don't know about the other ladies on the site so I can only speak for myself but I'm not exactly a docile girl.  I am very ruff, I like to get dirty, I like to ride hard, and I get loud and rowdy when I'm hanging out.  I am very independent and strong willed and I think that can be a little intimidating to men. Most guys don't like it when a girl has a bigger set than theirs.

And not all the guys out there want a Barbie most the guys I know like the full body girls.  You know the kind with a honky-tonk badonkadonk.  Yeah, anyway just be yourself find a cool crowd of guys to hang out with and you'll see that not all of them are a bunch of shallow pigs.

It does seem like that; So much is put on how a girl looks. It's hard not to constantly obsess over how much weight you may have gained, how you may look better in a smaller size, how you'd love bigger boobs, how that girl over there gets to eat that anythign she wants and still stay skinny. I've had my share of eating/exercise disorders and it's rediculous. I have great friends on this site and a wonderful boyfriend who thinks i'm beautiful. I dont so much care what other people think of me (looks-wise), but I do obsess over how I feel about myself. And man, can I be a tough critic! I think as women, we are our own worst critics. Most guys dont notice that extra 3 lbs we may have gained or that our makeup isnt "just right". The GOOD GUYS tend to gravitate towards more real things, like a girls self confidnce and her comfort in herself. Guys may think and tell us that we are gorgeous (and guys... we LOVE/NEED to hear that), but if we dont feel that way ourselves, nothing is going to make it change. As women, we need to embrace our own bodies and love every curve, no matter how much of a pain in the azz that curve makes itself (hence my new belly roll, lmfao). I wish we all lived near eachother though.... we would make one heck of a fun work-out group!!!  Can you say Stripersize? Wink

For the first time in my life I feel as if someone truly understands what I've been fighting with all of my life .... I hate the fact that no matterhow hard you try to look better or how hard you try to make your man happy there is always gonna be someone who looks better or whatever the excuse may be.... I've met some really great people on this site...

But I'm trying to figure out if I'm the only one who feels empty when their isn't a guy to make you feel beautiful .... ? ? ? ?

I know exactly what you mean.

I dont really feel "empty" when there is no guy... but it is definately reashuring knowing that there is one. I love being in relationships... for ALOT of reasons (many of which, I probably wont discuss, lol). None of  us "need" guys... but for some crazy reason we get that feeling of being "whole" when we have one.. just like they do when they have us (I hope). To me, having a boyfriend gives me the added self-confidence when I am feeling down. I dont have many friends that I hang out with, so when I have a boyfriend I really lean on him a lot (which can be good and bad I guess). I love knowing that there is someone there to pick me up when I fall, to tell me I am pretty when I feel like a cow, to share my hopes/dreams/fears with, to joke around and hang out with, etc.

I try to tell them exactly how I feel and what I need. That way there's no excuses, lol. A lot of the time chicks seem to just sit back and hope guys figure them out... or lay out subtle hints. From my experience, screw subtleness... just say it flat out. If your man doesnt listen to that... then he obviously isnt listening at all (not like he had to try to decipher what you're saying).

Well you have to remember that guys could be listening to you but not hear you .... Sometime they think we're speaking another language ......

I for one would rather have a girl that is nice and easy to get along with, than a preety and snobby one.  So don't count me in with the "majority".  Wink

Most of you guys make comments about not wanting those women.  However, that's not what we hear.  Meaning that you say one thing then when there's a hot chick around you all stand around and oogle over her either making comments or sneaking peaks when your significant other isn't looking.  We notice those looks and they can have negative effects on our self esteem.  Making us feel like we need to look like those girls to be desirable in that way.

Hang in there ladies....there's someone out there for everyone.  I used to HATE when people would tell me "when you least expect it, you'll meet him."  But you know what...it's true.  Stop looking....... Kiss

I actually haven't been looking for once in my life.  It's been very refreshing to be happily single.  Not sure if I've met mine yet but I'm happy either way.

Mrs Purelogic you are right though things do come along when you truely quit looking.  Life is also alot easier.
