[smiley=Dead.gif]I believe you're right-$6.25, and it is all relative-with the minimum wage increase that will also affect the price of items that are purchased at places such as convienent stores or
gas stations-where people are going to receive a pay increase from the change in minimum wage!  I don't believe that minimum wage is going to increase until july-but it will be interesting to see how and what the wage increase will affect as far as prices go-gas prices maybe? doughnuts and beer-oh man, we're screwed.  [smiley=Dead.gif]

Its all a bunch of horse SH*T, everyone wants to Bit*ch and complain about gas going up, but no one wants to stand up for want is right and wrong anymore. What about the thread about everyone from south Florida on up, driving 45 miles an hour to protest rideing area closures, by the time 4000 truck and trailers gett there there will be a sign hanging up thanking everone for there contrubition!!!!!!  Lets get a grip people, back in the 70's and 80's SH*T got done becuse people stood up for what they thought was right. You want to make an impact on gas prices?Huh MARCH ON BROTHER, remember the million man march?Huh How about all of florida walk for to protest??? The idea about not buying gas for a day is the most insame thing i have ever heard of!!!!! Gas comp's will stand back and giggle there bellys that are full of money at you. Its sounds like someone isnt thinking straight. If everyone that grumbled about gas prices would stand up for them self, GAS WOULD COME DOWN!!!!! I own a bike, and can ride to work in about 45 minutes. Now if everyone that lives clost to work would ride there bike to work, that would eliminate 70% of cars on the road during the day. Now 2 SLOID MONTHS of that crap, just in florida, and we would see a dramitic drop in gas prices, and we would most likely all feel better after that time. I know its not possable for everyone to not drive to work, but for everyone who it is possable for, stand up for your self.

Brian did you vote in the last election? We voted on a wage increase and we got it! I think it is up to like $6.25 or something like that for min wage. Anybody know the exact?

but not until june...and thats one step closer, but 99% of the people in this country don't make minimum wage.  Wages overall need to increase Smiley

I've been preaching a lot of the same stuff you are... people keep complaining and thinking of ways to make a change.. but when it comes down to taking action... everyone wants to get quiet and watch instead of participate. Not only would riding a bike to work eventually bring down gas prices (maybe)... but it would cause the bike ride to lose weight! Yup I said it... exercise! WOW! LOL. Another problem to buying only from one gas station company is this... THEY ALL GET THIER GAS FROM THE SAME PLACE! The lower priced gas stations are lower basically because of the same concept as "Generic" products. You have the big companies (Exxon, Mobil, etc) and the small (Racetrac, etc). The smaller is cheaper because of the fact that thier gas isnt branded (same concept to why buying store brand vs name brand is cheaper). The generic is cheaper because you dont pay for the "name". Yet, at the same time, both products usually come from the exact same manufacturer. Example: I used to work at an Ace Hardware, our store batteries sold for $1.. but guess who made them.. DURACELL! And we all now how expensive those can be, lol.

So... as always... we will all sit here and b!tch like we always do (whether its about gas or places to ride)... but no one will actually take action... same story... different day.

That is not true! There are some of us taking action, but for everyone 1 person willing to do something there are 2 or 3 that aren't!

same difference, you know what I meant. It just gets old hearing "b!tch b!tch b!tch.." but then not seeing any action. Not just here, but everywhere

Stop B*tching about the price of gas. USA is still the cheaps place to buy Gas even if the price shoot to $3.00 per gal. Travel out of the US and see those prices at $6.00 to $7.00 per liter. we have been spoiled with low prices and now we are starting to catch up to the rest of the world.. my 02 cents like normal.  Wink

no offence big-daddy but that is a crappy thing to say. We are not other countries, thats why we get to choose who is in office and we get to vote on many other things that affect us. Other countries money is actually woth something as well, out dollor isnt woth sh!t these days. And with money hungry a$$ hole's that are running this country and spending OUR money on stuped sh!t, its only going to get worse. The gas prices are a combonation of OUTRAGOUS taxes and price gouging a$$ hole's. Lets try to leave other countries out of this, WE are the ones to go help everyone when something happens to there sh!tty little countries, but when something happens to US, where are they?Huh? we export goods to them at dirt cheep prices, but WE pay top dollor to them for there crap, i.e. GAS. times need to change and only we can make a difference.

high-jacked: I agree with everything you said except point. Some of the other countries do give us money, how do you explain our national debt. We sell other countries bonds to get money. That why the money hungry governement officials are able to be that way!

no offence taken, thats my opinion! no offence high-jacked, but you dont travel much out of the US? theres no Hummers or SUV driving down roads in France or Germany..Think about how your fuel conservation efforts benefit the Earth and future generations.

Scientists say global warming and its projected disastrous effects on weather, rising sea levels and heat deaths are due, in part, to the burning of fossil fuels.

So, every gallon of gas you don't use can help ease global warming.

Right, there are no hummers or SUVs.  Just Land Rovers, big v8 and v12 mercedes and BMWs, big jaguar engines.  The whole world isn't going to run out and buy a toyota prius because we can save on gas. Smiley

my jaguar gets 22mph in the city and 28mph on the highway with the a/c on. dont be fooled by the name. then pay the price at the pumps. and stop whinning. Hydrogen Power is been around for a while. but the big 3 (ford, gm and dodge) have stopped all plans to make it happen. its honda thats pushing to make that dream real. think! using water for fuel.

Actually every car company is racing to be the first. The reason they  haven't brought out hydrogen cars is because the process to create hydrogen is done cheapest by using fossil fuels. Catch-22. Once that hump is hurdled than we will see hydrogen cars. Also the byproduct is water, not the fuel so it will still be expensive.

The one thing that will for sure help is to walk or ride your bike to close places, and cutting down on buying big gas guzziling vehicles. But we all know that it won't happen!

wow, thats amazing that you get 22/28mpg with your jag!! Do you have the 3.0?  My folks have an S-type 4.0 and they only get 16 or 17 mpg and 22 on hte highway.  And thats a very small engine compared to some of the mercedes and bmws out there.

And for a comparison, the BMW X5 with the 4.4 gets about 16/22 mpg and a ford expedition (4x4) gets 15/19mpg.

So much for the insinuation that jag's get decent gas mileage Smiley

im just messin with ya man...im not whining about prices...i just increase my prices to compensate hehe

its a 3.0 liter. but remember its also how you drive that give you good gas mileage. the 6 speed transmission also helps Grin and come on now, ford expedition (4x4) gets 15/19mpg. maybe going down hill.  Wink

LMAO no sh!t the only ford suv that get 15/19 is the escape. I just get mad when people want to gripe and complain, saying this and that should happon, but thoes same people will cower behind there SUV'S when its time to do something about it. Everyone is so adamite about rideing to preotest against rideing place closures, but no one will stand up for this. I meen what the hell, Do people not care about the gas it takes to get to there rideing pace, and then the gas it takes to ride?Huh? LETS LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!
