I heard on the scanner early sunday morning about 2 am the chopper was flying someone in that was invloved in an atv accident. The question that was being asked by the Hospital was if the person was wearing a helmet and how fast they were going. All I got was 25mph and heard the person screaming in the back ground.

Hey Chris, I talked to one of the rangers before I left today and he said that the kid was alive but had a concusion. Another case of a kid riding an oversized / overpowered bike. If he wasn't wearing a helmet he most likely wouldn't be here right now. I'm glad he is going to be okay. After seeing that It felt weird riding back to camp. It sure puts things into perspective. Man seeing Bay flight land in the clearing was an awesome sight. Especially at night. On another note, how long do you think it will be before Brad gets a Raptor 700 now that I beat him?

His brother was riding with him and said he didn't see it happen. He was riding an ATC and the headlight was smahed so I would assume he flipped it but don't know for sure.

yeah the kid was riding a 250r, which was a bike way to powerful for someone his age, as for closing down croom, there not going to close just because there was an accident theres accidents all the time, croom been open for many years now and im sure thats not the first bad accident, as for Brad getting a 700, i wouldnt doubt it but i do know i will probably have a new bike before the years up.Hey Homer, did you get your RV towed home?

The next tyime the state threatens to close down a place we should all get out quads and and ride at the place in some type of formation wearing black. Rise really slow . They wont arrest 200 + poeple. Also we do'y stop ride in c formation till we are heard. These drstic times will call for drastic measures.

Not sure what accident your talking about but this kid wasn't having seizures nor did he have a broken neck. I gave one of the paramedics a ride out there and stayed until the helicopter left . The kid tried to sit up a couple times and was squirming around quit a bit but was restrained. Maybe it seemed that way to your friend at the time but that's not the case. Oh yeah,do you type in bold red just to be annoying or different?

Your not supposed to hold anyone while they have seizure...

*EDIT*

Or try to move anyone if they have a broken neck..

I used to frequent croom a few years back with 2 whlrs before I got the four wheel bug. For me I personally had a good buddy that lost his 8yr old son after a collision with another bike. They were coming in opposite directions to the same jump but didn't see each other. The only mark on the 8 yr old was a tread mark on the front center of his helmet from the other bikes rear tire. Other then that there wasn't a mark on him. If I remember right he was pronounces at the hospital after life flighted in. Croom is a convenient and legal place to ride, hence it get so busy. What's the answer  Dunno . Maybe one way trails or maybe volunteer moderators to keep folks riding within there capabilities and safe limits? Maybe limiting the amount of bikes to a lower number? I don't think there is an answer that will please everyone. Personally I won't go there just for the one in a million chance that someone will do something out of my control that would injure or take one of my kids. I KNOW I KNOW accidents can happen anywhere anytime to anyone. But if you ask some of the old salts around about croom there have always been allot of injuries there. Many you never hear about because they may just require stitches or a bone to be set.  Just ride safe and be considerate to those younger and less experienced riders. Its not a race out there on the trails, there's a difference between riding hard and safe and riding fast just to go fast. Wink
