District transportation impacted by Hurricane Katrina Orange County Public Schools is taking action to prepare for possible interruptions of diesel fuel deliveries as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
Effective September 1, 2005, we have cancelled district transportation for all Night Trips, Weekend Trips and Field Trips until further notice. This includes sports teams traveling to play games. The games are not cancelled but district transportation is.
Parents should also be prepared to provide their own transportation for students to attend school beginning Tuesday, September 6, until the source of fuel supplies is stabilized. You are encouraged to plan ahead, car pool, leave early, have patience and be careful of bicyclists and pedestrians.
Please continue to monitor reports at the OCPS Emergency Information number (407.318.3000), by calling 311, (the Orange County Government Service Center) or monitoring CFN News 13 and other media outlets.
