What happend to the hurricane going across florida, becoming a T.S., then barly becoming a hurricane cat.1 before it hit the pan handle?  I would say that they were just a little of.  Now it is going south, nailing the keys, and it is supposed to become a cat. 4 before it hits the panhandle now. wtf is up with that!

Well now I know what to tell my son he can be when he grows up.  It's the only job where you can be totally wrong and not have to be worried about being fired.  What's funny is Max Mayfield or what ever his name is thats in charge of the Hurricaine Center hardly ever came on the news today like he was all day yesterday.

I have some sympathy for metorologists because their job is to predict one of the most un-predictable things in the world.

The thing that stinks about this situation is that next time there will be a good amount of people that won't take  heed when warned about a hurricane.
All that a meteorologist does is predict what is going to happen. There is no way to be 100% sure what mother nature has planned.

I personally Love the “It’s only a rain making event.” And then Broward county Fire Chief went on T.V. and said “This event is so small that I didn’t even put up my shutters.”  Ok people what do you all think now huh???

after being in the eye i have a newfound respect for hurricanes. its funny cause they keep saying its moving west but the radar images show it going southwest. its almost like they dont want to admit they were wrong and they're still waiting for it to make that northerly turn.
i think the science behind it is to draw a 45 degree line in each direction of its generally bearing and call it the cone of death!

I will always remember being in the eye of Charlie last year, funny how everything went from hurricane-force winds to nothing but a light drizzle for about 30 minutes, then back again,,,,and by the time it hit where I was, it was only a strong Cat1,,,,,still lots of damage and no power for 9 days.

Do not forget that a meteorologists is the only job where you are in direct compatition with God.

That is why they call them weather gessers.

There is a big diffrence between getting a direct hit with a category 1 and being slightly brushed by a category 3.  We all learned our lesson and hopefully won't take it so lightly next time.  I think I'll be putting up the shutters the next time a category 1 comes right at us.
