I haven't seen very many new chevys (Z71) go where my broncos have been usually the only ones were old chevys with straight axles.

Thats so funny, Ford does have IFS on there 1500 series. Seems like they are chasing after Dodge because dodge is the only one that kept the straight axle.
I have seen Chevy IFS outdo many straight axles. I have one on my 1988, rides and drives good, pulls good to. Just cost a little more to lift is all but when you get it lifted you have more clearance.

Yunt as the suspension compresses on the front of an IFS vehicle what happens to that clearance you say they have?

That all depends how strong of a lift you put on. It will always have more clearance then that straight axle to.

thats not always a good thing unless all your going to do is mud, thats the down fall of IFS there isn't much flex in them

That IFS will ride on the rode better then that straight axle all day long.

Yunt go out on your lot, put your head right under the differential of one of those IFS chevies. Look right up at it. Have a big, fat, shrek type dude jump up and down on the front bumper. Measure your clearence. Then do the same with a solid front axle rig. Now tell me who always has the most clearance. Evertone knows those a-arm bending, cv boot tearing, can't keep the sumbeech aligned right IFS suspensions is for shizzit. That is unless you are a street queen. I will give you that. They might ride better on the road but that is debatable. Aren't the chevy IFS front suspensions patterned after the Camry?

Yunt I am a Chevrolet driver by heart. But mechanically speaking the coil spring design of a dodge is by far the most superior to any thing out on the market. I have seen allot of failures with the CV joints of a Chevrolet and Leaf springs breaking on a Ford. As for a dodge I think mechanically speaking it is completely untouchable.

what I am saying is as the suspension compresses on an IFS front end the ground clearence decreases. On a solid front axle it stays constant. So in conclusion, let's keep all the IFS trucks on the road, to the mall and back, occasional trip to Publix, pick the kids up from school and stuff like that.
Purelogic don't get me wrong I am not saying the dodge suspension design is the shizznitty.

I know wilburzbro regardless of what you may have I think the coil spring on the front of the Dodges are a far more superior suspension because of the ability to “Articulate” better than any other thing out on the market right now. When ever you see a jeep rock climber what do they have under it??? It’s a coil spring suspension. Coil spring technology in my opinion lets you achieve so much with so little.
