my 02 raptor wont go in 2nd gear does anyone know what is wrong with it

its hard to say it could be alot of things the shift shaft might be bent or one of your shift forks could be bent.

it goes into 2nd but just reves up like if is in neutral

you have broken 2nd gear in the transmission that is a big job the whole motor as to come apart  what year is it

the 01 had transmission problems i have replaced alot of transmission in the raptor in my shop

the parts are not bad at all but the labor will kill you i am thinking about 500.00 plus parts

you can try doing it your self but if you have never done one you could fu@k it up even more  had a guy try it himself and sent the rod threw the motor have a shop do it are someone that has done the job before

If you did a big bore or compression(ie 686 or 727) chances are that the extra torque that these kits produce will cause a transmission failure. If it is neutraling in 2nd gear, you have probably shattered the second gear cluster, or broken the engagement cogs at a minimum. Don't run or drive the quad. Chances are you have some pretty good size pieces floating around inside your cases.

first thing first dran the oil out and look for metle parts on the dran plug if so big problem Sad

That is what the guy working on it said would be the best to do im not mad.  It wold of been the same price just to get the stock tranny fixed. Grin
