I have not been on this web page for 2-3 mths & got on for the first time tonight.I saw your post and decided to respond. I have 2 camps out at Holopaw. It is a great place to ride. The grounds change all the time depending on the weather. For 3 weeks it was perfect out there, but we have had a lot of rain lately & its going to be wet which I like. I am going out next weekend(8/19/05) or the weekend afterwards to mow/play/ride.You need to be a member/owner to gain access. If you want to come out & tour PM me and I will be happy to give you the nickle tour. You can buy land for as cheep as $2500.00/1.25 ACRES. It will be swamp land but will at least give you access to the land. I can but you in touch w/ people that have land for sale if you are interested. You can put up to 4 names on the deed wc/ makes it pretty cheep & all 4 of you get a key to the gate.

How many acres does owning in there give you access too? Isn't Holeypaw near Yeehaw Junction?

It gives you access to the entire property. I have been told it is 17000 acres, but I don't think it is that big.

It's about 25 miles north of Yeehaw Junction. If you don't have a camp you would part at the pavilion near the front gate. Most vehicles can get in there if it's not too wet but if there is a lot of rain there can be a couple of mud pits to get around. Anything beyond the pavilion depends on how wet it is out at that time. If it's dry there is sugar sand and it gets deep, if it's really wet there are lots of washouts to look out for and the main trail gets really torn up by Sunday afternoon. Definitely a great place to go riding. Bill

Hollopaw is a great place to ride, if you own a sport quad i would consider going during the summer because it is real muddy, you'll spend most the day getting stuck, but once it dries up there are trails for days, lots of fun and a great place to ride

My buddy's dad has a lot out there. We went out one time when I had my Ranger 4x4. I was wishing the ENTIRE time that I was on my ATV. I couldn't believe all the people that were out there just having a good time, riding trails. I am definately headed back out there once it cools off a bit.

i think all you people need to get your facts right before you it is not half under water there is no fence around a 4000 arcer peace of land that someone owns with cows on it there are a couple of lots that have cows on it but deffintly not 4000 lots that fenced off

I didn't think this was a fact finding mission. You wanted to talk about Holopaw and everything said was truthful. A very large portion of Joe O'berrys property is fenced in and has cows on it. Sure maybe not all of his 4,000 acres (he sells off lots from time to time including mine and they aren't within his fenced in section for obvious reasons). Do you know exactly how much of it is fenced in? Of course not that's why a general comment was made.
As for how much is under water how long and how much of SE have you ridden through? I just bought property out there this year but have been riding out there for a bit over 2 years and during the summer most of the area is saturated and wet. Almost all of it is swamp land / wet land...especially the north side of SE. There are some trails that get dry during the winter but just about every trail has water.

My buddy has property out at Holopaw and I'd have to say it’s a nice place to ride. I've been going to 5A allot because its close, but having your vehicle in a fenced in area makes me feel safer leaving my stuff and going for a long ride. Swimming holes are nice too.
Camping out at Holopaw this weekend, just not sure what nights.
