The guy was drunk and had a gun
Hmmm, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that was going to lead to trouble. Give it time, sounds like this Yahoo will eventually off himself and be in the Darwin Awards.
We live in a country were it's OK to kill a Cow, Chicken or Swine, but not a Cat or Dog. Must be the meat.

TRX350_On_The_Rack is right about drinking and carry a gun. I carry a gun at RR for protection (snakes, coyotes and to protect my son) I have a rule that if I start to drink the gun stay in camp.

If he was intoxicated with a Firearm and shooting it in a place not designated for fireing a weapon there is a serious problem . If he is a representative of R.R The board should take Any precautionary measures available to insure that it never happens again . Keep one thing in mind ..the more R.R is considered an ATV riding area ..the amount of Useless hunting dogs will increase .So will the hunters frustrations . People have been hunting alot longer than ATV in .

I am a member out there and have seen these dogs...But I have no idea as to who you are talking about in reference to Eddie. I know if I was there and saw that he would have been lying right next to that dog only I would have let him suffer. Wo is this guy Eddie. I know most of the gate keepers up there like Anothony and his wife but no Eddie.

atvrider05, I've reread your posts. I would not have made my comments had you'd initially made it clear that you witnessed the event. Since you now say that you witnessed it, you have the responsibility to notify law enforcement, instead of trying/convicting and punishing any alleged lawbreaker on this website. If he did as you say, he should be held accountable by law enforcement and the RR owners. It's not everyday that an adult shoots an innocent dog in front of children and it's not everyday that any employee would support that kind of employee, either, unless there's more to the actual story.

Am I missing something? Didn't someone say you can't have anything over a 22 out of season? If so RR management should at the very least suspend him or terminate him for firing a 12 guage and for drinking on the job. As far as the dog goes,I find it hard to believe it had rabies and no one could catch it. If you can shoot it at point blank range than you can catch it. This certainly puts a black eye on RR as a whole. If you think the members on this site are outraged imagine if the media got hold of it. A story like this would bring reporters from everywhere. Animal cruelty is taken seriously now a days. This isn't the " you sure got a pretty mouth" state. This guy should act civilized or go live in the deep deep woods of the louisiana bayou where there is a two teeth minmum. As many hunters and trappers that frequent RR and your telling me no one could catch a dog? Please. Can you say cover up??

Well here is the CRAP I was just told by Polk County Animal Control....In this wonderful State we live in...you can get arrested for leaving a Dog outside in the heat with no water BUT if you want to fill your dog with holes and let it bleed to death a slow and agonizing death in front (or should I say 2-3 ft from little kids) it is OK....I swear some of the laws are so messed up. So if anyone has any pull in Polk County please step forward. They are going to send out a Deputy but nothing will be done...GO FIGURE!
