Hey guys Thursday night practice is a great time to get a feel for the flat track. Practice runs 7 to 10 and it costs 10 bucks. Right now there are 5 or 6 that will be there for sure.
Late tonight I will post the track conditions and more imput from the track.
Directions: The track is located right next to the Pasco County Fair Grounds on highway 52 in Dade City. Or check map quest.

The track was in great shape. We ran for an hour or better, then we got about an hour of rain. Even after the rain it was still alright just a little slick on top.
We talked with Colin and the track owner and the series starts Sat Aug 6. It will run every Sat in Aug rain or shine, so bring your stock tires. There will be two flagers on the track. The classes will be set up Sat and limited to 4 or 5 bikes in Quad C and Quad B. By keeping the classes small we should get more riding time and make it alittle safer for everyone. All the details on restarts, laps, cautions, heat races, main events and series rules will be set up by the racers at 5pm Sat.

racing in the rain? on a CLAY round track? anyone remember what happed last time we did that? remember what it was like walking across the clay track in hazelhurst? someone is going to slip in the crap and smack the wall.. A light sprinkle i cound race in but No way would i race in the clay "mud" like last time.. thats way to dangerous..after all are we "flat track" racing or holding mud bogs?

Hey Chris you wanted to mud race at Samsula two months ago. Megan ran about 20 laps in the rain and the track was ok with the right tires. We are not going to race in a down pour, we will wait till it stops and work the track so we can race. BRING YOUR STOCK TIRES.

doug,
get your own screen name.. its confusing...
that was a straight line race for 200ft, on dirt... with paddle tires..
were talking about racing in circles on clay.. as we all know clay is slick as hell when its wet. not only that but none of our bike run airboxes, just the filter right off the carbs..I cant think of one flat track in this country that would race on a rained out track....
you are comparing apples and oranges...
I dont think you guys were there the time we tried that, ask gary..
yall can do what you want, i think i can speak for dave as well, if its wet enough where you have to change all 4 tires, we will pass.

Thanks to everyone who showed up tonight. That was a blast and a great race. The track still needs a little work, but nothing is perfect the first time. It will only get better and they'll get the classes set up how they should be. We had 21 racers show up, that's not bad at all. Once again thanks to all who showed up to race, especialy those who drove a long way(Matt,Rickand Gasgasman).
This is DOUG, sorry for any confusion I'll get my own name soon.
