ok, what is the stock gearing on the z400 in the small gear? What if i replaced it with a 15 tooth gear? What gain will I see. I plan on taking it to the drag strip tonight to see what the top speed is..

I know on my 400ex stock tooth is 15. If it is a 14 tooth stock which i think it is, the 15 will give you more top end.

Stock gearing in the Z is 14-40..

15 will give you more top end, Depending on your tire size, with 20" Rears stay with the 14-40, the 15 would make it a dog out of the hole.  When running 18" I have switched to 14-38, I have a 15 Front I want to try just have not tried it as of yet with this combo!

SVT- I see you're in Naples. You're not going to Brandenton drag strip are you? Let me know what they say about what you need to make a pass. I've love to take my quad down there. Good luck.

Old_school.  Most drag strips will let you slide with long sleeve shirt, long pants , boots , gloves and a helmet.  I already went, but  I didnt go to brandenton, I went to Immokolee, it is a 8th mile course. I ran a 10.33 at 61mph.
