Either one is good.  Ocala has a lot of trails. But you have to stay on the trails.  Croom has a little something for every one. a big sand pit up front and a big old phosphate mine in the back part which is good if you like to climb a lot. You can ride any where you want (except for the roads that are marked)  Croom has a good campground and Ocala has camp grounds but not much shade. Croom has a lot of shady sites.

There is mud at Croom during the rainy season but there are plenty of trails to ride that doesn’t have mud.

Croom is 2600 acres vs 400,000 acres. Ocala has lake Ocklawaha campground with a swimming pool.

Just so there is no confusion in case some one isn't familiar with Ocala ...  Yes Ocala has 400,000 acres. But you can't ride all of the 400,000 acres. But there is between 200 and 300 miles of trails to ride. Ocklawaha is a private campground with access to I believe Hog Valley trail which connects to other trails in the northern part of Ocala.

Croom has places to eat right outside the park (across the street),it also has gas station outside the park along with parts shop, hotel, grocery store (winn-dixie).  Ocala seems like its just in the middle of nowhere and you have to drive for miles to get to anything.  Croom just seems more convenient when you look at all the available amenities that are so close (right outside the park entrance)   Ocala is awesome if your well prepared and want to ride for miles on end.   If you like tight technical challenging trails then croom is the place to go

I like them both , but I ride a ute.  If you are going to be riding wide open and hitting it hard. I would choose Croom. Reason being  better visibility in the turns.  In Ocala remember there are also side by sides and jeeps that share some of the trails. And it's quicker to get back to the truck and recoup at Croom.   Both locations have 2 way trails so please look out for those who are not paying attention.  Either place is a blast.  Grin

Both are totally different.  In my opinion I don't think I would enjoy a dirt bike at Ocala as much as a quad. As I get older, I just enjoy the ride and not so much throwing it into the corners as much.  Croom to me is mild to wild. Which makes more people happy o matter wht you ride

i agree but dont think ocala is a blast for sport quads...it sucks IMHO!

the rangers suck and will write tickets for anything they can and they dont like you riding fast.  plus you are risking death riding fast due to blind corners with jeeps, sxs and modified sandrails coming at you hauling arse too!  no good!  if there were one-way trails it would be awesome.

croom FTW, great camping too
