I Think It's Time To Be Ashamed To Be A Floridian

There will be those here that think this is a political post but, in all honesty, this is something that transcends politics and affects each and every person in this state.  I was embarrassed by the whole hanging chad debacle, not because I believed that something nefarious took place but because of the way the media made Floridians look like a bunch of dimwits.  I think we just proved them right.  Race-based educational performance approved by the Florida Department of Education does nothing to improve the standard for excellence; it reduces it to an 'everybody gets a trophy' mentality that pervades youth recreational sports leagues.  But this is education and the barometer of our future; not a bunch of kids playing in a soccer league.  It's astounding that the people in Tallahassee can fool themselves into believing that lowering the bar will raise performance.  Watch this video and be prepared to be floored.
