hi I am looking for a new quad, I am looking at a polaris sportsman 800 and was looking for some input I am looking for a allaround atv. Are they goob atv's or not? Thank you

I haven't read anything about that model specifically, but Polaris has a decent rep for making good ATVs.

That model has been around for years and is a great quad, and since they have the new 850, I've seen the 800's for as low as $6495 new at places like Offroad-Powersports.

We only ride and by Honda's. Our oldest one is an 1985 350X,
and all we have ever done to it is service & chains. The foreman's
have gone to hell and back with no problems. I ride River Ranch with
a couple of people that have Polaris, they are always having to fix
something. Big Red all the way.

Hmm.  I have a Polaris 800 and ride with 4 Hondas and they are the ones always breaking down.  They all are good, just comes down to if you want to turn the tires or churn the tires.

Yes, at any given time, there's 1 or 2 of the 4 Hondas sitting idle with mechanical issues @ Chestnut's River Ranch camp! Just ask him how much downtime and expense he's had with his Foremans and Ranchers. That tired old "Mad Max" Honda myth has evaporated with the advent of EFI and disc brakes(carburetors and drum brakes).

when u put lift and big tires and so on  so on  they are going to brake down dont care what u have
its all what u going to do with the atv  ,,,mud,,,,trails,,,joyride,,,,raceing,,,or all
..i have a grizzly 700  love it ...all around good bike  use it for hunting  muding  trail riding ....
i had a suzuki eiger 400  for a small cc bike its a tank bad a$$ bike  suzuki will never make a better bike ......

I have a polaris 850 and it is a beast. Have had no problems with it. This is my second polaris, good machines.

There are three Brute Forces in my family. We use them to go in and out of my camp in the middle of the Big Cypress. Never had trouble with them to speak of, other than letting one sit too long with ethanol gas. No place in Florida is harder on an ATV than the glades. The BF's always perform flawlessly.

I've seen Keeter and his Polaris in the Cypress a few times too. No problems. (Unless you count the gorilla behind the handlebars)

If you're into sinking you bike, doing water wheelies, and thrashing it, you're going to have problems with anything you buy.

Buy Polaris they are really good! A few years ago I would of said Yamaha, maybe honda--- but they are all lacking in intavation and design. Check out the new RZR S 800EFI and 900 they are sick man just bought a RZR S LE 800 and its great!

I almost bought the new 850 but got a sweet deal on the RZR.
