Hey guys, I am considering buying a Kawasaki Prairie KVF650.  The person I am buying it from does not have the title. He said just a bill of sale.

I used the VIN lookups on this site for stolen vehicles and title lookups.  I cant find anything. Any ideas. Can I still apply for a title and register it with only the bill of sale.

I am posting the VIN, if anyone knows any other lookups please look it up and let me know.

VIN:::: JKAVFEA172B514826

Thanks in advance for any help

It's a 2002

02 and newer require title.

Might have come from a state that didn't require titles, but honestly....unless you have a clear title dating back to when it was originally bought, it's probably way more trouble than it's worth.

All new bikes come with a title or manufacturers cert of origin, you need one of these...plus a bill of sale directly from the person named on the cert of origin or title )nobody else...it has to be from one of the people named on the above document) or you will have problems getting a title in fl.

The only exception to this, is if the quad came from a state not requiring titles in 02. Then if it's not stolen, nor has a lien from a finance company on it...you can get a title. Truth is, if it doesn't have a title...there's probably a good reason why it doesn't/can't.

Plenty of cheap legitimate bikes out there.  Wink

Thanks. I just read the title requirements on the DMV site.  Your right, it's probably not worth it.
