honda engine problem

hey guys, i got an old honda rancher.. when im riding it as im getting rdy to shift gears the engines starts sputtering. anybody got any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it?

time to clean it out or time for a rebuild their easy enough to do take me about 1hr to take apart one and put it back together
rebuild kits are that much anyways talking 40-70bucks
