Finally got all the pictures compiled from our summer vacation.

The kids got to visit their grandparents in Indiana.  Brandon sneaks a ride on Grandpas’ Eiger.

We also got to see “Thomas the Tank engine” in Connersville, IN since we missed it in Mount Dora this year.  Was a total surprise for them.

My father-in-law and I were able to make it down to Pennington Gap, VA to ride with his brother and family.  I’m really jealous of these trails and scenery.  We rode 45 miles up and down steep rocky terrain, through river beds, some mud and gorgeous mountains.  Enjoy.

another from our stop at the top of the mountain.  We rode between Virginia and Kentucky.  Keep in mind we started at the bottom where the road is.

“Moonshine cave”
They used to make moonshine in this cave during Prohibition.  It was only accessible by the rough trail.  Must have used pack-mules to haul out the goods.  Sorry, nothing left behind.

My father-in-law and I.

Uncle Rick with his son Jesse.  You wouldn’t know it, but Rick rides with a wooden leg and is riddled with cancer.  Doesn’t have much longer  Cry  We made this a family ride.  I hope not, but this might be the last one with him.

The wooden porch I'm standing on is the moonshiners abandoned cabin on top of the mountain.  It's 300' straight down.  Shocked Shocked

I will ride up here anytime.  Didn't see another rider in 45 miles all day.  No sport bilkes need apply here.  4x4 only on this ride.

florida is a dream compared to illinois. closest sucks and it's 2 hours.
best ain't bad (badlands in atica indiana) but it's 3+ hours.
but this kentucky mountain stuff does look like the cats meow.

Johnnygun, does Wisconsin have some places to ride?  I was under the impression they did?

The Badlands Rocks!  I wish I lived closer to that place.  I rode there last summer once.  My Grandparents have lived in Attica 80+ years and I used to live 45 minutes away, but back then it was still a gravel pit  Sad.  Perhaps a group of us will come up from FL sometime.  --H

HONDA328
wisconsin's best places are mostly canada south.way up there 5-6hrs min.
badlands is the king-ding-aling.
if anyone ever makes the ride up..you better believe i'll be there with you! unfurtunately i'm another 3hrs north so i would not be much help w/ lodging, but thats up to you. they have hotels and camping pretty close now, didn't know if you knew that. ofcourse, you have your gramps.

Towards Dairyland Wisconsin.  Plenty of trails.  I still have a cabin up there but don't ever get up there.  Riding is ok nothing like the pictures you have though.
