Class is on the roster and scheduled for gate-drop in under a month, without any rules posted.
Makes it a little tough on the engine builders...
I'm setting here with bare cases. Cranks from 41-69mm stroke. Cylinders 53-70mm bore. Half a dozen trans combos. 2-3-4 valve heads with one or two cams. Ti valve blanks, port epoxy, aluminum welding rods, oh my... lol Toss an old dog a bone?
Word around the hot dog stand has the class headed towards a "run what'cha brung" deal. That will scare off WAY more new riders than it will attract. Why turn what could be an ideal stepping stone class in to another 3-4 bike, $10K to line up class like the ridiculous Mod CVT's, to fuel one guy's ego? If you wanna run the high-end National type bikes, then fuel up the truck, book some hotels, and head out on the National circuit. While I'd LOVE to build an unlimited thumper to spank the arrogant 105 ding-a-lings, it puts the class out of the 'budget racing" realm. Run the 2-3 CR-powered bikes with the 2-3 mod CVT dingers and get all the premix fumes over with in one moto. Even scored different and with a second gate drop. Why waste a moto on a couple machines? 4-stroke shifter bikes WILL gain popularity. Raptor 125, Pitster 125/155, SSR, etc all outsell the hybrids about a million to one. Which is gonna fill a start gate?
Do we really wanna run $5K engines?
