It may be best to meet somewhere near north florida at a certain time so anyone could be there no matter where they are coming from. Or have destination spots to meet up at, depending on which area you are coming from, then meet up near the Fla.-Ga. line at a certain time.

This sounds like a great idea. Hopefully by then Josh and I can both take a week off work at the same time. We might be able to get a discount at a hotel or atv park that has cottages if we get enough people together.

We should be able to get some good fireworks .I'll probably get a couple of tubes and find a good creek for my youngins to enjoy . I used to love doing that when I was a kid .  Used to like to find some little moutain and climb it " nothing to big " that was always cool .

well j.d, sounds like we have interestd parties. how do we move forward? you started this so i guess you are in charge.
shall we get exact dates, the place, and get money & reservations done? i think everyone can make their own reservations and stuff as long as dates and camping/riding spot are agreed.

Called the place and they don't take reservations for camping until April but she put us first on list and we need to call in April to confirm.

Yeah we have plenty of time ......I'd rather see a cooperative effort than any one person in charge . We have time so lets make it good .

I'll talk to my uncle Rick, he's lived in east Tenn. all his life. We can probably find some real good stuff other than the normal tourist stuff ..local caves...killer lakes..good riding spots .. We have both rode bikes and stuff all our life so we should be able to do some real cool %$3 !

Just for some info. on this place it is located in Johnson County, Tn., the town is Mountain City. I just returned from there as we have property about 2 miles from Callalantee ATV. It used to be a horse riding area but was changed to ATV"S approx. 2 years ago. They have sevaral camp sites and plenty of room for tent camping.  There is also a nice cabin for rent has two bedrooms with lots of beds in them, full kitchen etc. They don't have septic hook up for R.V.'s yet, but if you need to dump can go the the campground behind the welcome center in town. They have a mandatory helmet rule for minors, although I highly recommend it for everyone due to the terrain.

Motels in town:

Americourt
Empire

For J.D. there is a large mudhole area right in the camp area. There are many miles of trails, I haven't been on all of them, some are very steep, scenery is beautiful, when riding there just a week ago saw numerous deer.

There is also another riding area in the county called Crackers Neck it is owned by the same person and allows riding. I haven't been to this one as it is used more by the jeeps and have been told it has big rocks. If that is what you are into. They do allow jeeps etc. at Callalantee but most go to the Crackers Neck area.

If this group ride is during the July 4th we will also be at our property and riding.

The wife will post some pictures shortly from there...if you need any more information about the area let us know. I think we have a picture of the cabin they rent. and we might be able to post the trail map, although you really have to pay attention when there as it is confusing.
