this was originally started as "ocala ride in august".

starting point: eurika dam

date: august 6th

meeting time: 8:00am

start riding: 9:00am

expected distance: around 50 miles

this starting point is located just off ne160th st and 1/2 mile north of hyw 316. as you head west from salt springs turn north (just before you cross the  bridge over the ocklawaha river, you will be heading towards ft. mc coy)on ne 160th street, go 1/2 mile look for paved road on left turn there and park in an orderly manner. there are 2 sides to this area, the north side which is legal and the south side that is posted. it would be best if nobody rode in the posted area (even though the climbs and jumps are better) for obvious reasons.

does anyone have an old atv piston? i want to id it and place it in the woods. we'll mark the location by gps. then we'll start a thread disclosing the coordinates for someone else to find and in turn repost on the thread. this was brought up last year by blackbeast but he moved to colorodo before it got going. i thought it was a good idea then and still think it would be fun to do. we'll place it on this ride.

Would like to Invite you all to bring a toy for the first ATVFlorida Toys for Tots run. The toys should be new, unwrapped, and please no less than $10. We will be collecting for boys and girls.
I will be setting up a collection point somewhere at the dam parking. You will be able to order a shirt at that time.
Thanks (in advance) to everyone for their support in this cause, look forward to seeing you in Aug..
This is not a mandatory thing, for those w/big hearts only.

How long is the ride and will we need a gas drop? I really don't know how far I can go on a full tank.

I would not mind staying there but they told me they had no vacancies until after that weekend. How did you get the reservation?

Is anyone camping? Where? Can you camp at the Eurika dam area?
