WELCOME!   freestyle has to be the most fun of all atv-ing for me.  just something about big air that I just cant explain.

as far as the type of bike it doesnt really matter . go with what you like but the 450r honda, 450 yfz yamaha, kfx or lt400 all are great bikes for this. even the 400ex. but when it comes down to it. the suspension mods should be the first thing you do before the motor. you could have all motor but if the suspension sucks it will beat you up pretty good.

 good luck,   Fred    quads only

Hey "quiterplop, "quads-only" is right for my opinion, any of those quads TRX450r or YFZ 450 is the way to go, one with electrict starter, the other with kick starter, both are good machines  other then that, suspension men, those quads come with a very good shocks been stock, but if you do big jumps then you have to think in some after market , swing arm, a-arms, and  shocks, so good luck
Later...

pd. I also leave in Tampa, if there is anything I can help you with just let me know

i dont "really" have the cash for the trx450 or the yfz450...i see a honda 400ex for 2500 and a 03 blaster for 2600 on the sales part of this forum. already talked to the guy that is selling the blaster. will either of those be a good starter bike for me since i've never done anything of this sort before. no exp with bikes. so very unfamilier with most of the stuff i should be looking at.

anyways, thanks for the info i will keep the suspenion in mind as well. Wink

Try to find a Suzuki Z400, you can pick em up fairly cheap, but just make sure to have the frame gusseted if it hasn't already been done. For an adult, the blaster is small, and low on power. The 400ex is a good size, but also slow, and obsolete.

The '06 Raptor 700R is awsome for freestyle and all diffrent kind of riding.  I ride track and it handles almost like a YFZ.  It has alot of power and awsome suspension.
