Stay tuned for a new schedule to released by the SDTA.

The SDTA is now being run by myself (Shawn McNary), Ward Jones & Ray Delacqueseaux, we had our first event this past Sat at Sumter and the turn out was average but the event itself was very successful and we were finshed with the finals at 10:10P.M.

Shawn, Ward & Ray are Professional business men during the day and part time promoters for Flat Track Racing, we are new to this but have been closely involved with Motorcycle racing all of our lives. I believe we can be successfull with running the SDTA and promoting events in the future.

SDTA will be racing at Thunderbowl this Sat Sept 26 with the new track Manager, we will introduce him at the riders meeting but the SDTA will be running the show just as we did at Sumter, this means sign up will happen at the back of my trailer. There are currently no membership fee's for SDTA or Thunderbowl speedway.

Gates open @ 1:00
Practice     @ 3:00
Heat races @ 5:00

Gate Entry
5 & Under – Free
6 to 11 - $5.00
12 & up – 10.00

Entry fees for adult classes               $35.00
Entry fees for Pee-Wee classes          $15.00
Expert M/C & Expert Quad $$ classes   $50.00 with 80% purse payback

As with any transition period there will be minor differences in the way things are done so please be patient this Sat and stay tuned for new things to come including a full schedule for the SDTA Fall/Winter series.

Best Regards
Shawn McNary

Hello Mr Bones,
(Southern Dirt Track Association) would be perfect as we plan to promote races at other locations throughout Florida and Southern Ga.

Thank you for providing this website, it has been our most consistant source for info over the past 3-4 yrs.

No, sorry we are only interested in promoting Flat Track races, if anyone is interested in picking up the TT side of the business from Thunderbowl please feel free to come out on Sat and meet the new track Manager and discuss the details with him.

If there is a TT here, Hope its like the real ones. Shawn you know what im talking about, Peoria TT track.  Two left turns, a jump, and a right...
the so called TT at TBS, is more like a scrambles track.  Ward has been on them before, Golden Eagles track... was it half grass also, or just some of it.

I still live about three miles from where the old Golden Eagles track was located. Since '73, it was red clay , no grass. I think the only time it ever had any grass may have been the first race, before the clay was brought in. Also had ST there as well. I probably had about a zillion laps in at that place before they closed in 1980. And a few more after it was closed. Wink

and who would you be tired iron. I was a Junior Golden Eagle in the early 70's there. Both my mom and dad worked the races. Most of my pictures on my facebook is at Golden Eagles

Greetings and Mrrry Christmas from the great white north...ssss#*"t i'ts cold up here...5 degrees tonight..Made the ice race in Syracuse War  memorial today, what a blast! Although i caught a ridge and plowed through the haybails to tag the wall in my second heat(not enough practice)no one was hurt the entire day. Can't say the same for my forks and frame but nothin a good press can't fix, good racin was had by all, with no meat slushies.Couldn't wait to put the dirt tires back on though.FYI There will be a N.American Ice Racing Championship race in March in Fort Myers,go to EastCoastSpeedway.com for the sched.& Info. This series is open to quads too. Also you might be able to see me crash @RacereportTV.com,(you might see some good speedway ice racing too)Can't wait to get back to the warm dirt and spooking Richard into going high, still looking for Speedway riders...If you or anyone you know are interested in riding Speedway,e-me or Nate Grin ;See ya'll atThunderBowl...#77
