honda fourtrax 300 smoking and low compression

Hey i bought this atv thinking it just needed new top end, well i took it to honda and they pushed the kick start and said the compression was way to low just to be the top end, and that crank shaft prob bad. Ive talked to several other shops and they all think thats incorrect and that its going to definently need top end but other prob valves or timing chain, I want to get yaws opinions, all replies will be very appreciated!

bring it to a shop and have them do a leakdown test. it will tell you everything you want to know. but if it were me diagnosing the bike, id take the head off, the cylinder off and check the piston for holes(if it isnt running.) and replace the rings. i highly doubt its the crank, thats common on most two strokes, not four.

yea i went to honda and picked it up and took it to a shop ive heard good things about, they're suppose to be stripping it down withing the next 2 weeks and seeing what is wrong with it, it runs, but smoked real bad so i didnt want to drive not knowing if it could make it blow or not lol
