2 horses found by owner butchered for their meat. This has been going on in remote areas of Dade for a while but has now crossed over the "border". I can not imagine what the owner felt when he found them.

Horse meat is used for consumption in Asia and parts of S. America and even parts of Europe but is not accepted here. Although it went on to say its not illegal to kill your horse and eat it. You just can't kill someone else's.

Have things gotten that bad? Huh

Maybe its not for human consumption but for the scum bags who breed and raise fighting dogs.  I don't think they would have a problem killing someone's livestock to feed their dogs. Dunno

Maybe Mr. Ed's gone all Hannibal Lechter on us and trying to frame humans? Too many Publix(and Sedano's) round here for it to be humans.

Plus we have an abundance of stray cats around which are much easier to butcher.

They should be hung by the neck until dead like they did in the old days.

Horse meat is a common sub in those dishes, you just don't know it.

its actually called "tasajo" and yes it is very good eating.
i am totally against the inhumane butchering of any animal, however- horsemeat is an excellent source of iron and protein. i remember eating it when i was a kid.

and yes i have heard of it being available in the local blackmarket.

dont get me wrong there is no justification for what htese people are doing.
i just wish they made horse meat legal in the u.s. Grin
