once again the media has said that ATVS were the ones who have been seen in the area that was on fire in Miami. This came out on the channel 4,7,10 news. I find it insulting that just cause atvs have been seen here in the past that they are to blame for a fire in that area, Even though on the day of the fire no ATVS were reported being seen. I guess everytime the everglades catches fire ATVS are to blame also even though there are no ATVS in the everglades!!!   Can you imagine them (the news channels) getting thousands of phone calls from ATV users saying this is upsurd that they could make such blatant accusations of a particular type of recreationalist. How do they know it was not the mountainBikers or highkers or the bird watchers or the neighbors or just some kids!!!  For the next fire a group of people should show up with their bikes on the trailer carrying signs saying I DID NOT START THE FIRE!!!!!!!!!    and get the media to air this on the TV

Maybe it was the riders of the atvs. seeing as most atvs have spark arrestors its probably safe to say that it was not atvs, but maybe a campfire, cigarette, etc...

zman if u dont like it go take a long walk or short bridge.  all you do is post up  about politics of atvs,   you should go ride your bike and have fun and not worry bout the lil stuff the happens in between.

I still find it amusing that the smokey the bear people put out that anti-atv ad. They showed two guys on ATV's (400EX's) and a spokes person made a big rant about how they werent using spark arrestors and could cause fires.

The ad was pulled from all venues 48 hours later after the ATV community pointed out to the creators that the ATV's used in the ad were clearly equipped with spark arrestors.
