yes where I live I can get on my bike and ride completely legally, I've been here a whole 3 years of my life, before that I lived right down there with you in south florida, didn't need to ride illegally, if I wanted to ride I load up and drive somewere it's legal even if I had to pay.... if you can't afford to drive to a park or the fee's to get in you need to change your hobbies to meet your lifestyle.

Hold on now, we have had legal spots (some of the best in Florida) forever until very recently, so I find your comment "if you can't afford to drive to a park or the fee's to get in you need to change your hobbies to meet your lifestyle" total BS. We have had some serious rights taken away from us down here, and frankly 'pay to ride' places are not the solution. wait until one of these park owners has to fend off a multi million dollar lawsuit because some fawkwad who couldn't ride lost his ability to walk.

My tax money goes to maintain a chitpile of public land in Florida, and I am damn sure entitled to use some of it, just like the folks who want to look at bugs, birds and animal scat while dancing naked.

fact is if we all rode legally the parks would have more backbone and be much harder to get closed down due to the amount of support of the riding community, as it is now we only have some hard core L-cross people, motoplex people, croom etc. to stand up for the cause, if everyone was going to the parks, they would get bigger and better and the support would grow for them and better chances for more of them to open,  

Fact is, riding the pay parks is selling out in MANY folks eyes. Folks who have used the public land for generations and supported the management with taxes.

but by you riding illegally, you make bad publicity, loose support from none riders and can't support the parks you would have choosen to ride= every rider looses

the "I was here first" attitude has never help any cause, it only makes it worse

when I was a kid in so. FL we could get on and ride in many areas, that went away quickly, fact is if your riding on someones property and get hurt you can sue the owner of the property even though your tresspassing and stupid. would you want someone who doesn't care about legallities riding on your property?

Every time anything happens, from a car crash to a fishing accident it casts something in a bad light. South Florida is done. No one could ever afford a large enough chunk of property in South Florida to make a decent park, so it is up to the county or state to take care of us, PERIOD.

I know what your saying here but in todays world we have no choice but to follow the rules best we can. until the lawsuits "I'm a dumb but and crashed my bike on your property so I'm sueing you" stop(never) we need to do anything possible to improve the sport.... it's much easier for the government to piss us(riders) off then deal with lawsuits, polution, and grandma complaining.

don't take this bad but to me the term "selling out" is imature, say that to the judge and watch him laugh as he hands you a sentence .. swallow your pride stand up legally and hopefully our kids will benfit, we have little hope... times are WAY different then generations ago.
when I grew up in West Palm, jog road was dirt, now 441, 10 miles west of Jog, is about the largest road there
remember our taxes are always spent stupidly, just look at the bailout to AIG, the high end employees are getting $3 mill bonuses today

Here's another analogy using your flawed reasoning. I used to waterski inside what's now a no-wake/idle only manatee zone in the Manatee River. That's been 20 years ago. So, I was sking there before the no-wake signs went up. Sure as he ll doesn't give me the right to go ski there now.

I completely understand where Vforce is coming from. We lost The Badluck Area and the HoleyLands in the last few years. In life, that is like going from a billionaire to a street bum in one fell swoop, and these were just the last of what was once a real riders paradise.

I could leave my garage on whatever junk I had at the time and go to 100+ awesome gray area riding spots in between the legal ones growing up... I'm just not quite as bitter..

It's an entirely different to be a slob and just not care.

Everyone can help by attending those ORV meetings held around the state from time to time and, showing up edicated and informed. You can join groups like the Blue Ribbon Coalition. You can donate money to these types of organizations. You can write letters to your government officials. It works. Look what it's done for our opposition.

Croom is an example of the motorcycle community coming together and getting that area opened up to all of us when created. The FTR fought tooth and nail for it. Because FTR was so well organized and educated, they managed to get the Dept. of agriculture on their side and make it happen.
