We talk a lot about riding, and a lot about sausage on our site. Don't exactly make for stimulating conversation, but sure is more fun than a bunch of whinning and moaning and complaining about people.

Then why do you keep posting events on the plex, if you feel that way? Maybe you need the members on this site to make you more money?
Oh by the way you keep posting the plex events on the open discussion and not the group rides, why is that?

For the first time I agree with you 100%. I think he and the rest of the Paul koolaid drinkers should keep Plex talk confined to some secret section of the forum, and anyone who has the nerve to mention it on open discussion should be muted or banned. Hell, even some plex owners should be shut out if they don't agree 100% with plex policies.
Don't those guys know open discussion is where we show off our insult skills, make retarded comments, lie about fantasy mud toys, firearms and practice our super duper language skills? Offroading talk has never had a place here.

Just remember, they [bad Internet bullies] only have as much power as you give them.
Be strong, don't give them that power over you. Go to the nearest mirror and tell the guy looking back at you he isn't a loser. Living in a van by the river isn't something to be ashamed of and you love him. Hell, go ahead and give yourself a great big hug and take a bubble bath. That always works for me.

Someone could make a ton of money purchasing this property we are discussing, the 110 acres off sw8. Even the BBq place has become ATV friendly and it is bordered by SFWWMD and Indian land.
We need a South Florida Paul_S to step up
. I guess no one wants to get treated like he does for trying to help the community.
Damn man, This is what started all of this.!!!!!!!!

Dude spent up all his money buying half of North Florida.
We need a different rich guy who likes to ride and has money to burn on a bunch of folks who want to sue you and throw trash on your property while insulting you on the net.

This thread is a perfect example of why we, as the ATV community are destined to fail.
Being as objective as I can, here's the best summation I can come up with.
1. If you're riding on or in an illegal area, you've got absolutely zero right to complain or otherwise raise a stink over that area getting closed. Doing so makes you and the rest of the ATV community look bad. Kind of like the recent ruckus in North Port. What part of illegal does everyone not understand? We look like idiots when we complain about such things.
2. If you want to get or keep open places to ride, do it the right way. Approach the problem in an organized manner with full knowledge of the hurdles you'll/we'll face. Going off half-cocked really makes us look bad. Ever look back at some of the interviews with ATV riders over the Holylands? Talk about finding the lowest common denominator.
3. Stop with the improper actions. If you're riding in an illegal area, you're a friggin dumbazz and you're hurting the rest of us. Case closed. Not open for discussion. We have no right to ride. Anywhere. Period. If we get to ride, it's a gift and nothing more. Got no place to ride? Then why'd you buy the bike? Want a place to ride? See number 2 above.
4. Stop the infighting. That's all we do. Anyone who bad mouths fellow ATV riders riding properly in a legal place they ride is off base. Who cares if it's not your style? They're promoting our sport in a positive light. If you don't like the place or the style, then don't go. For instance, you won't find me at L-Cross anytime soon. However, that's not to say I hate it and think the people that attend are retards. Rather, I am glad it's there and hope it stays open forever. It's a place for people to go and enjoy themselves on ATV's in a manner they like. What could be wrong with that? People jump all over the Plex and its participants despite never going. That's just flat out dumb. What's the purpose? So what if Paul and his friends promote it. They're having fun. The comments about the Kool-Aide and other snide remarks only serve to make the people posting it look like fools. You like Bamboo? Great. Have at it. Same for any TT, MX, XC, Mud or other type of track/area open to us. Brag all about it. Tell us how much you like it. Say it's the best to you. I don't care. What matters is that you're having legal fun on your ATV and sharing it with others.
5. Get off the sidelines. Everyone likes to pizz and moan but, nobody wants to do anything. I go to these ORV meetings and none of you ever attend except for 2-3 regulars. Everyone else sits on their butts and complain. Can't attend? Donate money to an organization like the Blue Ribbon Coalition or your local ATV advocate club. Or, write a letter to be read into the record at the ORV meetings expressing how you feel. Better yet, step up and buy a place to ride. Say what you want about Paul, but he did it. Same goes for the other track owners, as well as L-Cross, Bamboo, etc. Nothing speaks louder than putting your money where your mouth is. I've offerred to do it and I have and I do.
6. Work every day to improve our image. Most of you have absolutely no idea how close we are to losing more places to ride. Those who would love to see areas closed to us constantly bring up our image. I've been in meetings involving ATV access and had the opposition pull out pictures of illegal riding at places like the humps, 8th Street, the Stadium, 5a, etc..... I've watched them pull out page after page of FWC incident reports involving ATV's. I've watched them toss onto the table copies of threads from ATV sites (including this site) involving illegal and improper riding. If we do not make significant strides to recover whats left of our image, we'll all be in dire straights when it comes to places to ride.
Anyway, I've got to go to court now and be an attorney. I'll post more later. In the meantime, everyone pull up their big girl pants and start acting like adults. Otherwise, just go away.

More of the same lame stuff on here. Non Riding Internet ATV Junkies are at it again.
More power to Paul at the Plex. Never been there. Its too far for me to go because I RIDE ILLEGALLY MOST OF THE TIME. I do not need to go north to get my rides in. I also ride a closed golf course at night illegally. I also ride in the Lake Wales Ridge Environmental Area as do a few hundred others.
We were there first. We own property in the county, we have ridden the trails for years and along comes some unregulated group of tree huggers. Screw them and the system. If you think you can unite and make changes in the system your wrong. The first thing the opposition needs to do is read some of these posts and that gives them all the confidence they need in keeping the ATV "community" with out riding areas. Borderline illiterate sprinkled with some occasionally normal chatter. Good Luck.
Welcome back JackL. We needed someone on here that actually rides something and can carry tune.

No I do not think I am part of the problem. I am just a guy that grew up riding everywhere South of Orlando for many years unrestricted. I do not have a problem. I like to ride both closed course and open trails and I feel I have been ripped off by our government.
I will continue to ride Illegally just like most of you have in the past. If you ever rode somewhere that was not a pay to ride or you owned it yourself. YOU WERE RIDING ILLEGALLY!

What can I say, I have been riding legal, illegal and gray areas same as you my entire life as well. The funny thing is, many illegal spots like McNab, Flamingo Road, Lost Lake, etc, etc were just fine and good for thirty years...that is until they were built/paved or the general public found them.
Florida might as well be split in to two at the lake at this point, because from where tlittle is sitting you probably do look like a problem 'atver', and what you don't get is that tlittle has hundreds of miles of dirt roads he can ride legally as well as thousands of undeveloped acres to play in...like we did in the 70's.
So like always, my jaunts into the swamp and other illegal spots in the middle of the night ain't going to change anything. Doing wheelstands down Krome and US27 will though. Hitting cars in the city don't help us much either.
One thing is for sure, someone needs to buy that property at sw8th ST /157th next to the BBQ place. Damn, it is the best and last area for us and it will be houses unless someone ponys up.

yes where I live I can get on my bike and ride completely legally, I've been here a whole 3 years of my life, before that I lived right down there with you in south florida, didn't need to ride illegally, if I wanted to ride I load up and drive somewere it's legal even if I had to pay.... if you can't afford to drive to a park or the fee's to get in you need to change your hobbies to meet your lifestyle.
fact is if we all rode legally the parks would have more backbone and be much harder to get closed down due to the amount of support of the riding community, as it is now we only have some hard core L-cross people, motoplex people, croom etc. to stand up for the cause, if everyone was going to the parks, they would get bigger and better and the support would grow for them and better chances for more of them to open,
but by you riding illegally, you make bad publicity, loose support from none riders and can't support the parks you would have choosen to ride= every rider looses
the "I was here first" attitude has never help any cause, it only makes it worse
when I was a kid in so. FL we could get on and ride in many areas, that went away quickly, fact is if your riding on someones property and get hurt you can sue the owner of the property even though your tresspassing and stupid. would you want someone who doesn't care about legallities riding on your property?
