Does anyone know the Florida laws for making a three wheeler, atv or utv street legal?

If it is titled as an OHV (off-highway vehicle), it cannot be registered or made legal for on-road use.
I believe in certain communities (primarily retirement communities or 55+ communities), they do have regulations on the books that allow on-road usage of golf carts or similar UTV's.

Thanks, thats what i figured.
what if the "atc"three wheeler is homemade, I figure if you could title a homemade harley type trike there has to be a way to register a homebuild atc "trike". Anyone have experience with that?

There are a few ways to approach this, but they all take a lot of time, patience and cooperation.
You could 'build' a homemade 'motorcycle' that has 3 wheels to the State's specifications and then attempt to get it titled as a 'motorcycle'. As long as it meets Florida's regulations, this is possible.
If you search long and hard, there are occasional Title Office mix-ups, and I have seen ATV's that were mistakenly titled as a regular on-road vehicle. If you could find such an ATV and purchase it then you are in luck, but remember, you have to run DOT approved tires, turn signals, horn, etc.

There are a lot of hoops to jump through. Just buy a dual sport motorcycle that is street legal. Much easier.
