Ok so i have a question.. my pops is getting the big rims and tires w/adapters for his 06 ford f-350, its 2wd and a dually. they are the alcoa 22.5 with the semi type tires im inot sure what kind.  my question is what if any lift kit would he need to clear the setup

i am pretty sure you only need level kit for the front end depending on what size tires he gets

The problem with doing a Daystar leveling kit on the new wishbone suspension setup is you will never get the truck aligned properly. Nobody makes a camber / caster kit for the 2wd. With a 4" lift you will be able to clear a 255/70/22.5 (36") Tire no problem.

a 22.5 semi tire will be either a 255/70/22.5 (36.6") or a 295/75/22.5 (40.4")


Now if he wanted to run 24.5's like the big dogs he is going to have to lift it to clear 42's


Also look at american Force Wheels or HD Semi series

agreed.  if you tow any kinda weight, good luck with those big tires.  gear down or power up

 I agree, 19.5s work better. The 22.5s look out of proportion to the truck and look ghetto. I also hear from those that have went that route that they ride horrible.

He will need to install a Daystar leveling kit. I have never had any problems with alignments, We have a place named Dougs Alignment in Sanford that is the best.

I own a dually and bought for what it was designed for which is hauling/carrying up to the limits it was designed for. IMO  the "big rig" wheels ride like crap, rob power and overall hurt performance . 
But if you have the money ....enjoy . Grin

yea i agree with you foreman... but its not my truck and thats what he wants..  they may be the 24's, thats what he origonally said they were first. i did not know about that size. i asked if they were the 22.5's and he said yes.. being that the 24's are 40" tall im going to tell him to give them back cause he is trading in the truck this year.

if you dont set the truck up for them yes it will "rob" power ... however with the most basic mods people do to a diesel truck and the proper gearing you can get high MPG (20+) and have a set of tires you will never replace (depending on how long you keep the truck

That being said the same thing can be done with 19.5's

Being that I am also lookin for new wheels I came across a site for Big Rig Wheels and they flat out stated you needed a 4-6" lift for the, I think 22.5 " rims. Crazy money for a less than stock comfy ride, lift 1200.00-2500.00, then 4500.00 for wheels and tires, thats freakin nuts unless your not bleedin cash from your arse Shocked
