looks great.... I picked up a couple tubes of this stuff called GOOP at Advanced and re sealed all the fittings inside and out, I think its pretty water tight. Im gonna run a hose up the snorkels and see if i have any more leaks in a couple of days.... The only big job is gonna be taking the casing off and sealing it. How big of a bead do i need to make around the seal?

make a pretty thin bead around the cvt. Just make sure it's not too much because the excess will hang out and when you clean the bike or peel the rtv silicon it will take some of the stuff from the inside when you pull the outside. A little bit goes a long way
So how are your snorkels done? spa hose w/ pvc and rubber connectors?

Theres really no pvc anywhere but the actual snorkels. Everything is spa hose to rubber connectors. The only place i might put pvc is coming right out of the exhaust side. If this goop stuff doesnt make a good enough seal i might need a slight bend to take some pressure off the spa hose. Hopefully this works cuz im kinda sick of this project already

so all your connections are like mine? spa hose -> rubber -> pvc? NO SPA HOSE SHOULD CONNECT DIRECTLY TO PVC...it will leak. I don't understand why your having problems...
I did PVC all the way out of the cvt intake on the KQ. Then for the exhaust I did about 12" of PVC coming out of the trans, then flex hose all the way up to PVC in the front. I tried to use a little spa hose as possible.
If you take pics I'll tell you where your problems are

his problems coming coming from same place mine was. The cover for tranny put silcone around that and it dont leak and the rear of the tranny case. silcone in that and it wont leak. Yes ricky it is rubber to spa hose to pvc. once he seals up those 2 spots it will be 100% if i reacal correctly you did the snorkles on my bike and they leaked first time(as i letmy bike float away in holylands canle) and i went back through and when i was done with the tranny they do not leak till this day

If you didn't silicone the drain plug, I would highly recommend it. It took me about two months of head scratching before I figured that one out.

your bike doesn't count lol, you rigged up 90 percent of the stuff on it, and I think the only helping I did with the snorkels was drilling the little hole on the cap of the intake...and supervising, holding the flashlight if you know what i mean...
I did kevs 2 brutes, my bike, and the KQ and they are all leak free the first time except the KQ, but i figured it out now. you can't expect it to be leak free if you only spend 2hrs on it...
i'm not saying you did a bad job, just don't understand why it's leaking. the cvt cover shouldn't be leaking that bad...if it leaks at all it's only a little bit since it's plastic against plastic, even w/o a gasket it won't leak much.
did you guys check the drain plug, it comes out easy on the kq...jayson lost his 2x already just riding around just something to think about.

You use the pliers that come with the tool pack, grab a hold of it and it pulls out pretty easy. I use the pliers to put it in and pull it out as my fingers don't fit up high enough to grab it.
I also always carry extra silicone with me so if I do need to pull the plug, I can just resilicone it before putting it back on. RVT comes off pretty easy.

Looks good but I can see where your problems are, right where it comes out of the CVT the stock boot where it connects to the other boot doesn't look sealed all the way. I put a 2.5" PVC there and sealed it all up with a NICE BIG home depot clamp. Thats the only way that i got it to not leak

are you talking about the intake or the exhaust? I did put about 6lbs of silicone on both those connections cuz i was worried about them. those pics were taken before the silicone dried so it looks kinda sloppy. i figured id wait till everything dried up before i stated trimming
