Does anyone have any opinions of or experience with store bought snorkels like the ones from bayou snorkels? I ride an 05 Suzuki king Quad 700 EFI and the CVT slips like crazy when i do any kind of water riding... Im not gonna do the intake just yet cuz it sits pretty high as it is... If anyone can help me out on this Id appreciate it...

I did an 06 king quad...IMo they are very hard to snorkel. I've done quite a few snorkels including helping 4x4matt...the kindquad is hard to get RIGHT.  Sure you can whip it together and it might be alright...but look over on some of the other forums and see how others did it.

It was just shy of 110 dollars to do it on the king quad I did.  That was everything including the airbox.  Without the airbox it would be like 50.  So if you do the airbox, IMo spend the money and do the kit.  I'm sure you could get some help and get her done.

Try submarinesnorkels.com or do a search on yahoo for "kingquad 700 snorkel kit" and there are a few good ones.  Monster, submarine, and such are good.  I personally dont' use bayou.

No problem   Joe, Glad i could help you out.  Grin

Ricky    dont worry   it was just the tranny   and yes i double checked every seal, and yes i made it look profesinal.  I evan muser stuff   so things would line   up. I must say  king quad  was fairly simple to do the tranny.

Joe if it leaks any let me no  i will stop the leaks if it does leak.

Haha yea, try the airbox...lol.

Theres a few good ways to do it over on highlifter...those guys used PVC all the way for the cvt intake/exh, and flex hose on airbox.  The airbox is worse than my grizzly...it's HARD to get right if you haven't done it.

Well I tested the snorkel today and i got some work to do, I got leaks from every junction and the actual case is leaking... does anybody have any suggestions on what to seal the CVT with, id imagine it would have to be something i can remove fairly easily, it has a stock rubber gasket on it right now i wonder if i can just put some thick grease on it I dont know, its kinda something i wanna do right the first time cuz it is a pain to get the cover off...

Sounds like matt did it lol.  His leaked for a while until he finally sat down one day and did it right, keyword RIGHT.  Just tighten everything up and don't rig anything up.  The cvt will be sealed with black rvt gasket maker.  It's not too bad to get the cover off, just gotta do it once and right Smiley

The KQ i did leaked too, they are a PITA...

yes, it took just some tweaking and designing.  I tested everything before it went on the bike.  I covered the CVT with black RTV and the airbox with the same stuff.  the only leak it had was from the airbox, and it was just an area I didn't put enough silicon before.

He told me 2hrs to do it, thats rushing it! It took me about 2 full days of work (between letting it dry and other mods), plus I did the radiator at the same time.

Just check all your connections, silicon where you need it, re-do where you need it.

What did you use for everything? Flex hose and rubber connectors? If you used PVC to connect the spa hose to the pvc then your always goign to have a leak, you need spa hose -> rubber connector -> pvc and put silicon paste between all connections.  Thats how my bike is and the only leak I ever had was a hole in the tube.

see how I have pvc (note the EXTRA silicon) to rubber connection, to spa hose.  thats so it gets a good clamp and seat on the spa hose
