I hear this is new. If you are getting a tag for your trailer in Broward county (maybe the whole state)  you need to get it weighed first. $10. If you have not had it weighed already or the weight on the previous registration.

There are a few local companies that will weigh it for you. Again $10.  Smiley

From what I understand only if it is a NEW home made and not previously registered.Registration is based on weight & I guess allot of folks are saying its 500lbs & its a 20 car hauler  Shocked Also if you make it, over 2ooolbs requires a title. Thats a whole nother mess.

I have a 6'5 x 18 and weighed it but just put the tag of the 7x12 I sold to it for now, I have had 6 boats and maybe this is not the advise many might want to read but I have never registered any of the trailers they where on I only swapped the tag from 1 to the other. and in 12 years of doing it I have never once been pulled over towing a boat, you are not speeding and people usually are not switching lanes crazy like. I figure I save the transfer money lol. but to answer your ?? is what bushwacker say only if the trailer has never been regisitered or homemade I had to weigh it but haven't gone to tag agency yet, and since the agency only ask for the paper I weighed it with no floor on it cause the tag cost is determined on the weight also. just a thought if you are making one

I have done it many of times. If you are registering a trailer that you either built or don't have a registration you will have to have a weight slip from any certified weight scale. If you are going the homemade route, they will have you fill out a short form asking where you got the parts.... which is very simple "Northern Tool". It is a very easy process and pretty cheap as well.
