Anyone up for a group ride in Ocala in the future?  Drive

My wife and I have never rode there and we would like to ride with a group of others that may be interested in meeting there for a weekend.

Anyone?....

No dates set, maybe wait for a little cooler weather?

Do they allow generators in the primitive camping areas?  Got a/c.

Gen sets must be turned off at 10pm.
It's hot. The horse flys are bad. Un less you ride in the rain, I did today, it's too freaking hot.

I would be interested when it cools down a little. However I'm confused as to where to get permits and parking ? I guess now you can only park in specific lots ?  I used to park on fr88. Now I've told you can't park there. I really want to ride in Ocala but have read of negative comments got me a bit nervous.  I've ridden Motoplex once it's too far to go often.

I would love to go to the Moto-Plex to support Paul and am considering it on Labor Day weekend.

It is more than 130 miles further for me than Ocala, x 2 for the round trip and that is a lot more gas, but I want to check it out.

Ocala in early-mid October is probably gonna be my timeframe.  I had some friend's ride there recently and they really enjoyed it.

The wildlife viewing and different scenery/terrain is what we are looking forward to.  My friend saw two different bears (one was huge), 10-12 deer and about 30 turkeys over a weekend.

That is funny you should say that, as I saw that you posted you had a great time there on the 4th of July weekend.  And you said that you were
also going up there another day for work and you were looking to ride.    Wink

Yes, I am sure the bugs were bad there IN THE MIDDLE FLORIDA - IN THE PEAK OF SUMMER.  The reports of heavy deer/horse flies had been posted frequently.

We will ride when it's cooler out and the bugs are not so bad.

This is the attitude the they want us to have........

stop riding in ONF then they can say no one rides here so we can close it to all riding....

I know I am a little crazy, but an unwanted KOOK is a little extreme for never meeting me.

Thanks for the responses.

Date of the ride can be up for a vote for the people that are interested.  There are always dates that are off limits for people (B-Days, Anniversaries, Weddings that they have to attend, etc. and many other types of events).

Cooler weather will be coming soon and we can post up some weekends of choice and then vote on them.

Keep an eye on this post.
