Did you fasten a rope to the tree and to the ground in the direction you wanted it to fall?

I didnt have anything high enough to climb to up and tie it. I was affraid of pulling it low would cause it to go the way it did.

Gotcha dude, man I'm sorry something like that had to happen to you. But like the bumper sticker says, "sh*t happens".
Hope you get everything fixed up swamper.
How are you doing by the way? You get any work?

I am alright work still slow. I have started knocking on some doors and found out people (my competitors) are putting money in peoples pockets to get work. I don't really know how to compete with that but we'll see what we can do.

well if ya plan on doing many more trees you could investg in a throwball. its pretty much a little bean bag with a ring attached. tie some string on the end(approx 150 ft), about a foot and a half up tie a loop and your ready to go. toos it from the loop where you want the rope on the tree, bag falls down and tie your rope to the ring. pull it back through and now your ropes up high in the tree. im a tree surgeon and fgured id could give a little advice

i guess the throwball is a good idea, i used to work for an aerial cable construction company and we had the same thing sorta for pulling the lasher and we would use it for pulling a lasher on the line and we could throw it through or over trees, basically a long rope with large nuts tied onto the end for weight so the rope could fly and be pulled, alot cheaper then buying something for it
