I'd like to think we are taking the high road and not acknowledging the few, out of the nearly 3,000 FTR members, that are doing all the posting.
What happened was out of the ordinary for sure, but within the rules. That is what most of the controversy is over. Some feel the rules were not followed correctly or abused. That kind of scrutiny is kind of good if you ask me. Makes us really analyze everything when everything is being questioned. Joe S. and Dan G. addressed all the fuss and that quieted things.
What we need to do is continue and not let those few who are making all the noise get in the way of our good times.

If you want to SPEAK, we need some to step up and offer to help with these clubs. Don't think of it as work, because if you like to ride, you'll do plenty. I will admit working from my YFZ sucks. Riding around after working is a whole different thing!!
Go to the front page of the FTR site and see who is hosting what, when, and where. Contact the clubs, offer to help and get on a mailing list or phone call list.
Plan your weekends of your choice around work weekends the clubs have worked out. Go and camp out with them and work with them. IT"S FREE!! How can you beat that!??? Camping out on private property with the owners permission to make trails!?? That is a no-brainer for me!!
With the club I am in, I made trails with our trail boss's Grizzly. We needed section 5 finished off and I jumped on his 4 wheeler and mowed down some pretty cool trail leading back to the open pasture. You could go around this dried up pond either way around to a double green... anyway, it was fun. I went and fished some days and other days just rode. Never caught anything  Cry
What I am saying, is there are going to be 14 different opportunities for a family or group to go around Florida and do what I described. Of course, you have to be brave enough to meet new people.
The guys who are posting loudly are not all bad guys. They have some legitimate pregnant dog in many respects. We can either go over there and fight them or join them.
I joined them. Together we make a difference.

Hi Mike, They have been at it for a few weeks now but it might be better to make our transition back into the HS a smooth one. After we are back in and proving ourselves it may give us a little leverage. To rock the boat now probably wont help much. Besides its the same handfull of FTR members stirring the pot as usual. Believe me I do understand how you feel though. Hopefully we more involvement on our behalf things will work themselves out.

Shoulda looked here before I jumped in over there! I just can't stand it when someone says something about me that has no knowledge of me or what I do. I tell everyone about the FTR and what they do! Hel most people I know get tired of hearing about it!  See you guys at the first race! I guess it does make it simpler to decide which club NOT to join!
