well depends what your tires are. if they got great traction then your probaly ok out in some mud. and when you do get stuck its easy to pull or push out since there 300 lbs and utilitys are 450+

A sport quad isn't gonna do good in the mud unless you put mud tires on it and hit every hole doing 45mph. Also every fast sport quad has a chain and mud loves to eat chains for dinner. The only sport quad that can mud is the polaris scrambler. Sport quad performence with 4x4 capability. It is not REALLY REALLY fast like the z400 and the yfz and quads like that but it still will hang with them with the right modifications. It is an automatic trans but still it hauls @$$ for a quad with 4wd. That is the only quad you will find that will go really fast and still be able to mud without every other part breaking and getting stuck every 5 minutes. That or the brute force 750. It isn't a sport quad but HOLY CRAP IT IS FAST FOR A UTILITY. I was riding somewhere in ocalla one day and a guy was on one riding with some sport quads and he was hanging with them just fine. They were getting along pretty fast he said and for a utility to hang with a sport quad is somethin else. Your best bet is to get one of both. Wink

i have a kfx 400 and it doesnt do good or bad in the mud.  it does  a little bittle worse than good actually. UNless your going to be trowing roosts, doing major wheelies, or getting major air i would get one of those fast mud bikes like the bfs or the grizzlys.

i have alright tread on my stock tires. Whenever i go out with my friends on their ute's i speed in front of them (obviously thats easy) and put it in fourth gear and just spray em with mud....of course im only moving about 4mph but its still cool.

Robert, just got a YFZ a few weeks ago and have been concerned about the mud...good to know you're having no problems with it.
