I personally own a yfz. The bike is awesome to say the least. I rated it a 9 because of a few wrinkles, that hopefully yamaha will iron out on the 06. The throttle is murder, until u get used to it, and if you dont ride it ALOT its hard to get used to it. The seat has very lil padding, which is a rump flattener on your everyday trail rides. The rear brake rezzie wasnt very well thought out, shouldnt have been placed behind heel guard, makes it hard to remove those geeky stokers, without mods to either the bracket itself or replacing heel guards w/ aftrmrkt nerfs or guards. Have seen aftrmrkt brackets that move it out of that void and tightens it up to the frame nicely. Other than that, the yfz is set up very nicely from the factory. The one thing i like about the z over the others in its class and most others, other than the obvious, is the swing arm. un like the raptor,450r, z400, or the kawasaki with those big, bulky, heavy lookin swingarms. They are also really easy to squeeze horsepower out of. Very few mods are needed to make it hard to hold on to. They offer quite a bit of goodies to hop it up, but for the everyday weekend warrior lookin to make his bike hard to beat in the pit, a simple jet kit, along with a good filter and pipe, really wakes em up. Theyre pricey no doubt, but theyre right there with the others.Ive riden the honda, the raptor, the shee and the kawasaki, but havent gotten a chance to ride the suzuki. After lining up with the z400 theres no need to ride one. Since birth i was a honda man, born and bred. But in my personal opinion of this bike inparticular, the yfz is the best for the money. Anxious to see what yamaha does with the 06!

gotta say the only thing I dont like about the YFZ is the seat. incrediable power out of the box and even more respectable with simple bolt ons and tune time.

i give it a ten. no bike goes without being touched by the owner. i have a 2004 yfz. if i had to buy another quad it would be a yfz450,no question. granted i have changed:exhaust,a-arms,tie rods, wheels, tires, swingarm, bumper, handlebars, grips, steering stem, axle, brake lines, all shocks,etc..
but out of the box it can't be beat.
