Allow me to chime in here.

I have a Kawasaki BF750i. Love it. I've installed 27x12x12 rear and 27x10x12 front Mudlite XL's and find them to work perfect. No undue strain on the belt or the axles.

Now, we've recently procured another bike (another BF750i) exactly like mine but it has 29.5x12x12 Mudlites all the way around. Let me tell you, I hate it.

Before I explain why, let me say that I use my bikes in the Everglades to access my hunting camp. The terrain is extremely muddy and difficult to navigate at times. So, I definitley use the bikes as intended and appreciate the need for a more aggressive tire.

Now, back to hating the big tires.

the 27" tires fit neatly under the fenders. As a result, the rider always stays clean and free from giant globs of mud. However, the 29" tires are on a wide type 4 rim and shower the rider with mud constantly, regarless of your speed or intent.

The 27" tires do not seem to impact the power or strain on the bike whatsoever. The Big 29" tires slip the belt like crazy and have seriously impacted power. I can't imagine what stress the axles are experiencing as a result.

The 27" bike goes everywhere and anywhere the 29" bike goes with no difficulty at all. There is absolutely no difference in performance to the extent that I'd say I absolutely have to get the bigger tire. Remember, I use these bikes to get into and out of one of the most remote spots in Florida.

So, if it were up to me, I'd stay away from those giant tires.  You don't need them. Get something more reasonable and you'll achieve the same results. Of course, if you're intent on simply mud bogging your Ranger at L Cross or something of that nature, I see the need for the bigger tires. But, in my real world experience, it's a waste of money.

i also have a brute force, only a 650 SRA. also running mudlite XL's, 10s up from and 12s in the back, only 26s. I love them. didnt experience any power loss upgrading tires, and can go a ton more places. for the events such as mudfest and muddi gras, i have a pair of 26x12x12 outlaws for the rears (will tell you how much of a difference they make after next weekend).

ill probably be upgrading to 27s on my next set, but didnt know if they would clear my fenders and didnt want to have to mod my clutch yet.

Stick with 27" tires. I have the HEAVY Maxxis Mudzillas on my Rhino. They fit nice, added some top end without hurting the low end too much. In fact I'm looking to sell the Zillas for $250 being that I don't do much mud anymore and they look like new. They are 27x12x12 rear and 27x9x12 front.
