If money was no object, then I would upgrade it by selling it and getting a Raptor 250.

he wants to kep the blaster becasue upgrading them is cheep, and why the hell would you want to go 4 stroke instead of 2? thats a whole other argument tho. ill take a 2 stroke over a 4 any day...
A blaster is not exactly a high tech 2 stroke. It is an air cooled dinosaur. From what I've heard the Raptor 250 is better in EVERY way. Its like a mini YFZ. Yes 2 stroke top ends are cheap, but you will spend a fortune trying to make a blaster handle and brake as well as the new bike.

talking about just the engine, the blaster is a very old design and can still hang with some of the new, and larger 4 strokes with simple mods. i think thats saying something for 2 strokes in general. youl also spend a fortune on a new raptor 250 vs a old blaster, its apples and oranges anyways it depends on what you want to do with it, for budget efficient power, 2 stroke is where its at.

well, good luck your going to have a nice bike in the end from the sound of it, all im saying is to be careful with an $80 ebay port job, it can have a bigger effect than you think, don't forget its a little single-cylinder air cooled motor, things really matter...

if it turnes out like crap ill count my losses and buy a new jug for what, like 30$ or something. im not to worried about it as parts are cheep... and if it is total garbage i would want my money back. all his feedback are good, everyone is happy with the porting.
