Hey Bamaquad,

Are you gonna make it down for the Thunderbowl race? We got our home track back, I know you'll like it but you will want to spend the night because we race at night. This is a very good thing from now thru October.  Cool

We had some serious handling issues with the Sumter track, its the first time we have ever been there (as with every track this year so far) and Derek rode a pig to a decent 3rd place finish. We will be better at Ocala, a track we have been to many times before. Come on down and getcha some... Wink

I didn't know quad racers had to reference a book to know how to turn in circles!  Grin Is there a chapter on starts? Might be helpful to some!! Toast

Not gonna make it down anytime soon. After the Ocala race and Durhamtown race the following weekend I am pretty tapped out on gas money for the time being. Plus I got a vacation coming up in June so that don't help much. I'm going to try & get back down there a couple more times before racing is over though.

I'm going to give Huntsville 1 more shot and see how many show up & if there isn't enough to mess with I am going to quit racing here and come down there atleast once a month.

Derek those black things are called tires and they suppose to stay on the ground in shorttrack racing. Wink

How did you wind up like that anyways? Clip somebodys right rear?

no, i did it alone! i got on the gas a little early coming out of turn 4 and the steering just went away. i slide out of the groove and thats it....  that track was SUPER slick outside of the micro groove and once you hit that sand, its all over. and there was NO runoff room at all!  it your out of the groove you are on the wall!! Undecided  like i said before... i cant wait till thunderbowl re-opens! that track was just plain dangerous!  i havent wrecked like that in 10 years! so i hope i can go another 10 before i do it again! Cool

One way to stop all the 1 groove racing is after the 1st practice session put tires or barracades out in the groove that is forming for the 2nd practice session to bring in another groove. Then when the 1st heat race comes around you will have 2 grooves.

That's what I noticed about Ocala, bigass track and no passing until somebody got out of the groove. Pretty much a holeshot will win unless they mess up or somebody sticks a tire to them.

Your 2 cents are worth a million bucks! You are exactly right. I actually will take the blame for not telling the track personel to move the corners for round 2 of practice. Sad It will be better.
